The concierge Cristiano, from the portaria, was extremely careful with my bags, super polite and extroverted, leaving the environment more friendly!
Great professional!
The accommodation is good and the breakfast is very well served.
One the good side the breakfast was nice. There was a senior gentleman, that seamed to be in charge who was very nice to everyone and looking after details. Also, the front desk agent during check-out was very nice too. She offered to look after our bags and called the restaurant to make sure they would let us in since it was a little before opening time and we were leaving very early.
However the facilities themself are nowhere near the 4 star level. The rooms are pretty warn out. We booked double but got triple which meant that in a room that already was quite small to start with, there was no free space. The side sea view meant a direct view to a building right in front. The mattress, pillows and bed linen are of very, VERY average quality. The pool on the rooftop is nice, although small, with only 4 pairs of sunbeds (for 200+ rooms) and no parasols. The towels for the pool have to be picked up at the reception. However when we asked in the afternoon, there were no more, and then when we asked the following morning, they had not yet arrived from the laundry service.
Also the WiFi didn't work one entire day in the weekend and was never fixed on the rooftop, when we were there.
In short: great location and service but not worth the price. Please start with replacing the mattresses and pillows and bed linen!
First defect. When I made the reservation on booking they mentioned that the pool was being renovated and would be delivered at the end of March, but what was my surprise when I discovered that they postponed it until the end of April without informing those who had already made a reservation. So the pool, Solarium, gym and rooftop bar were practically unusable. They offer the Fortaleza Yacht Club pool as an option but it is not as wonderful as they claim. The yacht club is located inside the port and is next to a favela, so it is not pleasant. I wanted to cancel and go somewhere else but they didn't want to cancel claiming it was outside the Hotel's cancellation policy. So they offered me an upgrade to a room facing the sea as a form of compensation, but believe me, the room was worse because it was smaller, the air conditioning was on top of the bed, which meant I had to turn the air conditioning on and off throughout the night. . There is no difference in the finish and furniture of the executive suite they gave me and the standard room. The fact that it is facing the sea doesn't even make up for it as it is noisy and doesn't have double windows and as they gave me a low floor I could hear practically everything from the street. The bathroom, despite being large, has a very poorly made shower stall, it is narrow and I had to shower on my side because my shoulders couldn't fit between the wall and the glass. The elevators are another special case, they are old and poorly maintained and feel like a sauna, they are so hot. When I arrived, one elevator was broken, which forced everyone to wait several minutes for the other elevator. The breakfast, despite having a good variety, does not have its menu replenished quickly enough, which ends up making the meal torture. The only positive point is the staff who end up trying to compensate for the Hotel's shortcomings with friendliness and willingness. It was because of the Staff that I gave the hotel 2 stars
It started with check in. The company that hired me paid for the reservation. When I arrived at the hotel, they informed me that I would have to pay again, as the person who paid for the reservation was not me. I had to pay again for something that was paid for.
In the room, mold. This was the main problem, but not the only one.
Bad, old bed.
When I woke up, I went to the gym to work out at 7am, only to discover that the gym didn't open until 9am. Huh?! I had never seen this in my life: a hotel gym only opening at 9am.
The hotel is located on the seafront, an obvious advantage, which comes with reducing noise. The windows are not soundproofed.
Payment for room service consumption is made on the spot. Cannot be included in the account
From the day we made our first technical visit, we were very well received by Alyne Linhares. I want to express our sincere thanks to Alyne, who welcomed us and took care of our group with great affection. Alyne really made us feel at home. I shared with her my desire to leave a personalized toast for each couple in their apartments, and she promptly made everything happen in an excellent way. The rooms were beautiful.
We also want to leave our sincere thanks to Carol Honorato, who was excellent in the negotiation to close the contract, always very attentive.
Shortly after Carol left, Talita Almeida assumed responsibility for our group and was wonderful with me, always very attentive in all the phone calls I made. Thank you, Talita.
We were very pleased with the hotel facilities, the reception, the cleanliness, the breakfast — all excellent, score 10.
In addition to the 13 apartments we booked, we also booked the event room to talk to our group of 26 people. We also sell big tickets to outside people who would like to attend the event only on Saturday. We rented the room Athens for 200 people. David attended us in the afternoon in the event room and was very helpful with the team that was there in the assembly. The room was clean, everything as planned.
Everything would be perfect, if it wasn't a communication failure between the event team and the restaurant, which hurt us a lot, I will reserve the details only to the hotel's managers.
Apart from this unpleasant situation, all the other people mentioned above — Alyne, Talita, the girls at the reception, Daniel, David, the restaurant staff — were incredible and did not allow our stay to be marked just by this bad episode. You guys were amazing.
Thank you!
