We stayed at the Vila Galé in Fortaleza this summer. We were looking for a hotel close to the beaches and the city, and with a good affordable price. Already with food included and room service, and we couldn't miss the pool. And we couldn't be happier with our experience. It’s a four-star hotel,from the pictures we were expecting the building to be modern but in fact it has a very rustic style inside. One thing that surprised everyone was that the rooms were very large and comfortable and the bathrooms were also very large. Besides, the service is super good because there people are super friendly and funny. However one thing that should improve is parking because one of the parking is private and the other is shared with the hotel in front, and the convenience stores inside the hotel were not good because there were no things that should have (like slippers and swimsuits), not just souvenirs. This hotel is obviously not that cheap, but it is worth the price because it is a very quiet place, very well located, with a beautiful view to the sea, with some very good foods and activities for children.This hotel is ideal for going with children up to 7 years old because it has many activities, and to go with friends too as it is cheap and quality. Beach sometimes has strong waves, but it forms some quiet pools and sandbanks for swimming, without pollution, unlike other places in Fortaleza. It is the second year that I, my wife, son, grandchildren and nephew, spent my wedding anniversary at Villa Galé. We stayed in the hotel for over 7 days. It is located very close to the beach (across the street), the neighbourhood may not be the best one but you can easily get Uber ride to the city center. The hotel is well maintained and staff is nice and very friendly (especially Adriano from the restaurant/beach bar - was very responsive and always when needed). We defiantly recommend the place!

After staying for a week at Hotel Vila Galé it is clear that, despite the investment made in its structure, there is a serious problem in people management. Overworked employees, without the slightest training in customer service or even in their own role, which seemed to rotate randomly. The poor management of staff and the Hotel itself was quickly exposed. Some employees, on their own initiative, tried to plug the holes that were being created by the lack of efficient and clear management. Meals that “appeared” on the table (or in the room) every day with a different quality, quantity and ingredients; cutlery, glasses and plates even stained with lipstick; dirty towels with holes; lack of staff on the beach to organize tables/chairs; dirt from the previous day (I mention here beer cans, pizza boxes, wines, glasses, beer bottles) scattered in the pool area and inside the hotel due to insufficient staff shift hours; again: bad management. Clearly the employees were overworked and frustrated with having to take over things from previous shifts and it showed to everyone who was staying. There was a Manager, a tall man, extremely aggressive and harsh with other employees and disdainful towards guests. The breakfast was the worst I've ever had in a hotel, every day the same old, hard bread was served, clearly everything was reused for days on end, not to mention the lack of variety and staff, who only arrived in larger quantities after 8 am, with the cafe opening at 6:30 am. For several days there was nowhere to sit, there was no cutlery and I was even almost late for a trip because the employee who served the tapioca omelette had to clean up the mess from the night before to be able to serve the coffee. I am vegetarian and lactose intolerant and it was impossible to request any changes to the dishes served at the restaurant, pool or room service. My options for 1 week were fries, risotto or salad. It wasn't even possible to order the pepperoni pizza without pepperoni because it didn't have the cheese that was written on the menu, one of the only ones I can eat without getting sick. Not to mention the portions that were 200g one day, 400g the next, but the price was the same. A real absurdity. When I ordered a hot mix from room service, the bread was old, dry and hard.
