Excellent location if you have a rented car (at the airport 109 US for 6 days!), taxis are expensive (40 us a round trip from the hotel to city center) but available and the area is more residential than a tourist area, but the price/quality of the room was more than expected. Modern decor, clean room, free internet and breakfast included in the less than a 100US daily rate. we were upgraded to a king and twin bed apartment with ocean front view (actually the hotel is about 2 blocks from the best locals beach (Praia do futuro). The room was nicely cleaned daily and they always had a front desk person with good english/spanish in addition of their native portuguese. The staff were very helpful recommending places to drive to and excellent places to eat at night. The only complain is that we like to sleep late and because we were below the restaurant, our room was noisy at breakfast time about 0800 am, but it was good to start the day with the great free breakfast and go to the beach anyway! Excellent value/quality hotel that is not normal at Brazil, in previous trips I had paid more (double) for much less quality. No security issues and you can walk to the beach a day time, not recommended at night (no were in Fortaleza anyway!). Weather was excellent and the water is similar to the caribbean: warm!

This hotel is let down by the area in which it is situated. To be fair I prefer to see it as a place that is still being developed and it did not help a lot when I was advised to go for walks only in the direction of the other hotels. In future we will probably pay a lot more for this hotel as it is close to an excellent beach - Praia do Futuro. The service was good and you can probably get anywhere from here by bus during the day.
