It just a little too far off the pelhourinho to be perfectly located. Staff is very helpful. The view from the breakfast terras is probably the best of the entire state of Bahia. We stayed 4 days and we could easily have stayed longer to explore Salvador even more from this spot.

I agree with all the previous reviews. This little hotel with just 12 rooms is the perfect place to unwind and freshen up after a busy day of sight seeing and souvenir shopping. The building has been very elegantly refurbished and tends to the needs of even the spoiled traveller. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, beds comfortable, good AC,...

We stayed one night here, because at the time of booking the almost-next-door first-rate Pousado do Boqueirao where we had recently stayed did not have room. There is relatively little to choose between them. Both are excellent in all respects, including location. The rooms and conversion are better in the Boqueirao, but the views, especially from the breakfast room, and...

5 friends and I stayed at Pousada do Pilar for 7 days during Carnaval. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this bed & breakfast. The owners and staff are top notch. The service excellent. We stayed in the suite and also had a double. The suite is HUGE with a beautiful verandah. The bay breeze lulls you to sleep...

One of the nicest parts of Salvador is the quaint little posadas hidden amongst the colourful colonial buildings. The staff here was very friendly and we were so happy to find modern air conditioners for those hot Brazilian nights! We stayed in the suite, which was very large and comfortable, but I got to peek in the other rooms and...

Beautiful old house, intelligently modernized. We stayed three nights in a spacious, airy room facing the quiet street @ US$95 per night B & B. Rooms facing the sea are a little more expensive, but one can get the sea view by sitting out in the breakfast room. Excellent breakfast buffet. Owners and staff helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Many restaurants...
