We had a really good time staying. Set in the middle of the old colonial part of the city, this hotel is fabulously done up by an English artist. What did it for me was it's simple beauty and the laid back, natural contact we got with the staff.

Recently spent some time in Salvador and stayed @ pousada Redfish. The Hotel Redfish is a lovely place to stay now but, was a remnant of colonial architecture. The owner (Charles), has restored the building to a very high standard and the finish is immaculate. Charles was the perfect host and helped make our stay in Salvador a time to...

Found Pousada Redfish to be a welcoming and beautiful inn. The rooms and the breakfast area where a pleasure to spend time in. Every little detail was carefully chosen. It was very clean. The staff were extraordinary. Very helpful and went out of their way to make calls for us or add something to the breakfast buffet that we mentioned...

Can't recommend Pousada Redfish highly enough. A gorgeous boutique hotel, every detail shows the personal touch of its proprietor, a British expat artist. High-ceilinged rooms with balconies overlooking Santo Antonio. 24 hour reception and excellent breakfasts--the best i had in Brazil. Located conveniently close to the Pelourinho and local transport hubs. I wish I lived here. I basically did for...

This is the second time I stayed at Redfish for Carnaval, and it was excellent again! The rooms are unique with lots of attention to detail and the service is outstanding. Everybody is extremely helpful, no matter what time of day (or night). It is very close to the old centre, but quiet. And Carnaval in Salvador is amazing ......

I'd actually booked another hotel online and arrived to find that due to some kind of a mixup there was no room for me. And this was a couple of days before Carnival! When every room in the city is booked! By chance I was referred to Charles Butler's Hotel Redfish by an expat friend of his who was privy...
