The albergue is really well ubicated: in front of the sea, a few meters of a transited avenue with buses and close to Rio Vermelho. The only problem I had was the fan in my room does not work continously, and the weather was really hot! The ladies attending the albergue are really nice and cook excellent!

When I think about this trip this summer around the time of the Olympics 2016 the only worlds that comes to mind is a dream come true. My trip was in the plans for several years as well as this was my first international trip. Everything was truly in divine order from everything overall fitting into my budget and not... More

This tiny hostel with a magnificent view is the perfect place to stay for budget travellers that look for a quiet and cosy place to relax after a long day of exploring the city. Our host, Michael, an upbeat and genuinely caring guy, speaks fluent English and Portuguese and gave us some great tips for dinner, drinks and for visiting... More

Friendly and knowledgable local staff, excellent breakfast, affordable, secure, well kept rooms, proximity to the water, within a short bus/taxi ride of Pelourinho, Farol da Barra, Museum of Modern Art, Mercado Modelo, ...honestly the list is endless. Though I travelled by myself I was able to meet other solo travellers at the hostel because the staff has done such a... More

This hostel is a brilliant place to stay in Salvador. First there's the view. Then there's the view and finally, yep that view. The terrace has a wonderfully relaxing view over the ocean and even if it rains it's still a beautiful place to be. The staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable about the city and surrounding area and... More

While traveling across Brazil, my wife had an accident in a hostel in Jericoacoara, a broken wrist, which needed instant help, not available up there. I just had arrived in Sao Paulo, so we arranged to meet in Salvador...Through a recommendation from staff at the El Misti Hostel in Rio Vermilho, they referred me to the Albergue Pedra da Sereia,... Very clean, nice facilities, good breakfast in the morning (they wake you up to have breakfast, something I've never seen before. For some people that might be a bonus but some people don't want to be woken up at 9am). Staff was friendly, not much of an exciting location for night life, except for carnival which is a prime location... More

Came here during carnival and had a wonderful stay. Close proximity to the water, centre, and supermarkets. Michael (the owner) was very hospitable and gave directions from the airport to the hostel via bus (Saved me $30 US! alone). Highly recommend!

The hotel has an awesome view that compensates for a lot of the shortcomings. During the night the only thing you hear is the ocean. The beach is just a few steps away. It was very frequented by surfers, for them this hostels could be awesome. Otherwise I think it is defenitley not the best beach in Salvador but a... More

I spent four nights in this bed & breakfast, and I felt part of the family from day one. The owner and personnel are kind and helpful, the owner has helped me a lot in deciding where to go (and where *not* to go), and helped me set up tours around with an agency if needed. The (single) room I... More
