We arrived in Manaus at 3:30am and had to stay somewhere before our 8am trip to the Amazon. Our tour provider arranged for us to stay here since it was next door to the office. I would have rather stayed on the street than had to have paid R$90 for 4 hours in a nasty brown colored bed in a...

My boyfriend and I had been sleeping for some days in a bad hostel, when some guys in front of the hostel spoke to us about trips and about their hotel. We were in a bad situation because of the other hostel, and they warned us about some people who are cheating tourist with fake tours, and actually the bad...

We kinda picked this one at random, but it worked out quite well for us. It was located less than a block from the Teatro Amazonas and the beautiful bustling square right in front of it. Manaus itself was much nicer than lonely planet had lead us to believe, the markets were great, and we quite enjoyed it. The hotel...

This is a budget hotel and taken this into account the hotel is a good option, if you are not willing to spend too much money or just stop briefly in Manaus. Why? Location, location, location. Which means that it is just 300 meters away from the Teatro Amazonas plaza. Also some of the best travel agencies are just next...

I stayed a couple of days in th Hotel 10 de Julho, good price for their room, very friendly staff, they take their time to help you, in my case I needed to change my flight. Really enjoyed the Christmas party on Sunday at the nearby Amazon theater.

We stayed 3 nights in the Hotel, very friendly staff, they helped us out to change our flight reservation, They offer fast Internet access and great breakfast with regional food. The location is safe and close to the Amazon theater, which is the best place to hang out in the evening (free concert).

We stayed one night in this hotel before beginning our Amazon trip with Gero tours (which incidentally was fantastic.) The rooms are extremely basic, a/c too noisy to keep on during the night and the beds hard and uncomfortable with grubby and torn sheets. We also had to pay extra for hot water in the room! The hotel itself is...

I was a part of a group of twenty-four students who visited Manaus - a beautiful and impressive city. However, we had a very bad experience at the hotel where we stayed. The name of the hotel is Dez de Julio. Our initial enquiries at the hotel were handled by a guy who speaks English and operates a tour business...

This hotel has bad service, grumpy staff, and basic rooms with no windows to the exterior. It wasn't dirty, but the place definintely needs a facelift. Thankfully, it is right off a main street with internet cafes and restaurants nearby. The ONLY reason we stayed there is because Gero Amazon Tours has an office located inside the hotel lobby, and...

So many negative reviews. Why? The hotel is very basic but clean and with a spectacular location, smack in the center of town and 2 minutes walk from the Opera House. The breakfast is basic but adequate and there is free wifi in the dining room--which I found also extended to my first floor room. The price is right and...
