This is a HUGE hotel that has long walk way with little light, kinda spooky and creepy if you walked along in the hallway at night. The amenities is not as modern, I think it's overrated. And it's not close to city center, not convenient.

To have a zoo in a jungle is cruel. The captors are in cages that are way too small. Staff is pretentious or indifferent and information on Manaus and what is nearby is vague. 1 night is more than enough, especially being next to the cruel caged animals. Rooms are large, but basic, and very run down.

Travelling along way from the UK - we expected better from the photos. This is a time warp and is not suitable for traveling couples. Breakfast was appalling, the pool area unloved. Look elsewhere. We departed 2 days early to find another hotel in Manaus

Hotel reception was really tidy and staff were really helpful, our bedroom was really large, and at first looked fantastic, with a large bathroom as well, but when we looked closer the decor needed painting, The doors on are bedroom balcony had a lot of damp. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the food for breakfast was really good. The zoo...

This once grand hotel is in desperate need of a new caretaker. The rooms are dated, the shower was dripping, the electrical outlets fell out of the wall, the hallways are musty smelling. BUT....the breakfast food was delicious, very well displayed, and the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for my purposes, but the overall...

Definitely not a resort, it is just a dated hotel that needs many improvements including some training and qualification of the front desk staff, which could be, at least, polite and helpful. The intense musty smell in the room, lack of towels in bathroom, poor convenience items in room, billing error at checkout and others, were all part of my...

Not really sure where to start with reviewing this hotel. It's both really good, and really bad. Our first visit was just prior to an Amazon cruise. The check in was really quick and easy, even though we had arrived just after check in opened and there were several people at the desk. I was expecting, from some of the...

Would agree with a number of previous reviews. Hotel in great position especially if you are on a short stay, overlooking the river and short walk from the beach. Bedrooms are spacious and reception/bar area large, light and welcoming. Quite old fashioned corridors leading to rooms but quite nice looking. Rooms though look a little tired, worst example though is...

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Rooms damp to wet, beds disgusting, no blanket, aircon out of control freezing, one glass only in our room, no wine at bar, service non existent and food inedible. We all came down with the flu after only one night in this awful hotel !! Don't stay here !!

Huge hotel with many wings around an enormous concrete pool. Tourist groups use the Tropical as a jump point to explore the Amazon. Foreign businesses use it for ex-pat staff visiting the many foreign factories in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. Hotel is clean. Staff is friendly enough but the atmosphere is cold. Food is dull and institutional.
