Situated on Sun Island, this eco-lodge is reached by a 30 minutes hydrofoil ride from Copacabana. The setting on Lake Titicaca is stunning. There are no roads on the island, so guests have to trek uphill for 45mins or so to reach the lodge. This requires a reasonable level of fitness as the lodge is situated at over 13,000 feet...

This is a very basic and rustic lodge that requires a climb up a steep and long set of steps hewn out of rock to get to from where the hydrofoil lets you off. Given the altitude of 12,600 feet we were puffing even though in great physical condition so do take your time. There are a series of rooms...

If you're going to come here then you need to be clear what you're getting. You're on an island in Bolivia in the middle of a lake where there is no wifi and the electricity might go off. It's not a 5 star experience and you're not going to get one - if that's what you were expecting then Bolivian...

This is a great spot to stay for a night if you visit Lake Titicaca. It is located on the hilltop - originally a large vacation home, now converted to a charming hotel. As far as we know, this is the only decent lodging on the island. This is the place to stay if you you want to chill (not...

We loved this little lodge. I think it is the nicest of any places on the island. If you are a walker or hiker, you will love this location. The rooms, though now fancy, are very clean and comfortable. There are even electric blankets on the beds! I would describe the lodge as rustic but very comfortable. It is quite...

We stayed here in April for one night as part of the lake titicaca trip. Maybe my view is somewhat influenced by the weather as it was raining. The room feel cold and wet. Even the door is difficult to open, which I had to call my friends to 'rescue' me by kicking the door open. The light in the...

There is nothing too special about this hostel. It was a nice place, but there are tons of other hostels on the island and this one is near the top of the mountain and quite and intense hike to do at altitude while carrying bags.

From the hydrofoil jetty the path up to the hotel is fairly steep and because of the altitude the hotel porter brings an oxygen bottle on his back, unless you are the lucky one to be riding the mule ! Lovely welcoming staff who do all the registration formalities under the shade of a tree in the little garden. Bedrooms...

We arrived at the jetty and after a steep but short climb,we were met by a lady with a llama and a gentleman with an oxygen bottle and a donkey,in case they were needed which fortunately we did not. After the initial climb, the track rose gently and gave us terrific views of the lake and the royal Andes in the distance,after...

We travelled from Copacabana Bolivia in a hydrofoil with severe exhaust leaking problems such that we had to ride in the bridge with the captain. Once at the island we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the walk up from the jetty accompanied by a woman with her Alpaca and oxygen bottle (we did not need them). The hotel is quaint...

The charming Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge is located at the top of the Sun Island and surrounded by pastoral sceneries and the majesty of the snowed peaks of the Andes. This is one of a few places on earth where you can still breathe the authenticity of an unspoiled nature. This old restored Hacienda has 20 rooms, all with modern facilities: electric blankets, private bath, hot water, individual heating and the most breathtaking panorama of the Sacred Lake Titicaca. In the old Lounge & Bar enjoy the warm and cozy atmosphere with the dancing flames of the fire place.
