The advantage is just close to the Iseshi station, that's all. Hotel itself is rather old and very small room/bed if two pax stay. Definately needs renovations otherwise pretty overpriced although staff is basically helpful. Another plus point is that they offer complimentary coffee at the lobby.
When was the last time you opened a hotel door with a key opening a deadbolt? Well, for such a retro experience, the Ise City Hotel is it. This place has an acceptable location, and the staff were pleasant, but the facility is totally outdated. It is shabby, the carpets were worn and stained, both in and out of our room and the lighting was inadequate. Not an uplifting experience. I've heard that business hotels in general are having a tough economic time in Japan, and updating, at least here is being deferred. One good point is that the restaurants associated with the hotel were quite good. Dinner was good, and breakfast the next day was tasty and ample. The meals are not included in the hotel price. I'd recommend eating at the hotel, and staying elsewhere.
The hotel seems rather old, and the corridors are a bit dark and cramped feeling. The rooms are small by western standards, but normal for a Japanese hotel. It's not luxurious, but the rooms are clean, the beds are pretty comfy, the air conditioner/heating works, there's free internet and the staff are friendly. The lobby is open 24hrs so if you're out late you don't have to worry. It's also within easy walking distance of a grocery and several convenience stores, restaurants and bars, various cultural landmarks and both of Ise's train stations. There's a bus stop right out front also. It's no resort, but I think it's quite good for the price.
Located very near to the main train station, this hotel is not special, but quite all right. The attentive staff speak enough English to help you with most problems. The steak restaurant at the hotel is very good.
Stayed here May 2006 . Clean , comfortable hotel approximately 5 minutes walk from Ise Sangu Station . There is a small supermarket about 100 metres from hotel where can buy sushi / sashimi or snacks to eat in hotel room . Bus to Ise Jingu cost 410 yen as against taxi which will cost 2000 yen .
