I chose this hotel as I needed to be at the ferry port a ten munute drive away by 0630 in the morning. It offered good value, free parking, wifi and a decent location.
The hotel is in the centre of town with food stores, cafes and restaurants all within a few minutes walk/ride.
Lots of parking outside and a swift if unwelcoming check in. My room was round the back with the door opening directly onto the road/parking area. I wasn't expecting much at this point, the property is divided into several units and it all seemed a little disjointed and lacking in other guests.
I parked up and found the room. It was surprisingly good. Spacious, lots of storage space, a big comfy bed, tea and coffee and a microwave/fridge plus a table and chairs. Nice and bright, well kept and super clean. Decent, if loud, heating system, a satellite TV and free wifi.
Bathroom was a great size, clean, well kept and with good towels and hot water. However the bathroom was so cold you didn't want to dwell in it.
Breakfast is offered, however I was leaving too early to try it out. Had to leave my key in the room as the front desk was shut up and locked when I left.
I'd use it again if I was in similar circumstances, however would not stay here if I was exploring the area and using it as a base. Good value for money.
We got here just before 10 PM and left at 720 for our ferry so we weren't here long. The room was clean quiet and the bed was comfortable. The owners seemed like they take pride in their business which is a good thing. The room itself was spacious and the HVAC was quiet which is a pet peeve of mine because so many hotels have noisy HVAC. The pillows were a bit flat which is my only complaint. Breakfast was all right. I had a hardboiled egg and some yogurt.
We stayed here based on the inn's proximity to the ferry landing, and also because it had good prices. What a pleasant surprise we got! The innkeepers were so friendly & professional, and they explained everything to us upon check in. Our room was small (not tiny), very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel has a continental breakfast in a sunny room off of the check-in area. Shopping and dining was within walking distance, and there are some interesting places to visit. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again!
We had a room in the 'new' section for two nights...wonderfully decorated, large room, nice bathroom... very comfortable. Nice continental breakfast, very friendly staff. We would most definitely stay here again!
We stayed here for one night to pick up our hire car the next morning. the picture on their website is misleading because it looks as tho the whole place is in a quiet rural location, but it's not! And it's a long way from any action if you don't have a car, which we didn't. On arrival our booking was incomplete and they at first insisted we pay for the room until we produced confirmation from our travel agents that the room had, indeed, been fully paid before our arrival. We had a self catering King Room and in was frankly depressing. One very long room as you go in the door, with only one window in the whole room, in the bedroom at the opposite end, and when the bedroom door is shut, the rest of the room was plunged into gloom. It was so depressing, in fact, that we didn't use the self catering facilities but high tailed it to Antony's on the marina instead. We don't really like motels, but we realise that they are a way of providing inexpensive overnight accommodation for travellers, and there were plenty of American guests staying there, so we seem to be in the minority of guests who found the place depressing. We would definitely not stay here again if we were ever in Anacortes.
I usually call the Sunrise Inn and reserve over the phone. You can ask for owners Jag or Kuljet, or manager Daniel. Their newer addition has some wonderful rooms, but many like us stay the older part of the inn. Great... More
