Enjoyed a relaxing visit to Abingdon, Va, staying at the White Birches Inn, which in warm weather would be a pleasant walk away from downtown. The delightful couple who own this bed and breakfast informed us very well with lots of great tips of what we might want to see and directions. We were greeted with cookies in our room... More

Home is pleasant, antique furnishings and back porch overlooking cute little garden area. House wine, bottled water, soda and beer offered. Dish of Hershey Kisses/cookies in the rooms for a sweet treat. Breakfast was disappointing during our 3 day stay (waffles, sausages and hash brown potato patties were store-bought frozen variety). Rooms do not have individual AC units. Home is... More

We were lucky enough to choose to stay here for 2 nights. We had a lovely stay- the hosts were really welcoming and knowledgeable about their town. The Inn itself is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. Our room- the Porterfield was gorgeous and very spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast both mornings and chatting with our fellow guests and the owners. They made us feel very... In my opinion-- Pretty mediocre. Overcrowding of furniture made interior navigation much more cumbersome than necessary. This was especially true when carrying luggage in or out and accessing bathroom from bedroom. The sink and tub grout appeared to be growing mold. Rooms do not have individual temperature controls. Room was warm and stuffy making it difficult to sleep. This location... More

The best thing about this house is the back porch! You can sit out there in the evenings and have a beer or wine (complementary) and listen to the sounds of the water in their koi pond. It's very pleasant. The couple that runs the BnB is very friendly and knowledgeable about local events and restaurants, but also do not... More

Very charming place to stay while in Abingdon. The hosts, Paulette and Mike, we're so thoughtful and made us feel so welcome. They informed us about things only insiders would know. The breakfast was excellent both mornings. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the back porch and garden....so relaxing. I highly recommend... More

The owners were very pleasant, the location was perfect. Walking distance to all the restaurants. They were very helpful with things to do and directions. We did the Virginia Creeper trail, I would only recommend only the top half. The cemetery near by is very beautiful and historic as well!

My husband and I spent the weekend in Abingdon to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We spent a relaxing two nights in the Noel Coward room of this charming inn. The room was well appointed and cozy with a fireplace in the sitting area. The two breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed both the hosts and the other guests. We make... More

Room was really comfortable, bathroom well-appointed, and the home and yard are beautiful. Great back porch for sitting and conversing with other guests. The location is about a mile from the Creeper Trail trailhead, and is a scary bike ride into the town itself because the inn is on a pretty busy road. We thought it was a bit pricey,... More

Mike and Paulette were gracious hosts. Mike gave us a quick tour of the house upon arrival and they have a small fridge downstairs with complimentary soda/juice/beer. The house is set back from the road nestled in lots of trees. We stayed in the Thornton Wilder Room which was just up the stairs on the right. The bed was a... More
