We were only in Austin for one night and wanted to look around the University and take in the 6th street experience as it has been 30 years since we last lived in Austin. The cost of a room is less or equal too staying at a hotel downtown and paying for parking. We were not greeted at check in but... More

We recently spent about a week at this B&B, and we were so happy we were able to stay there. It is close to the capital and a lot of Austin's attractions. One thing My wife and I aren't super comfortable with is the B&B's that have a small breakfast window and dining with all the other guests. This B&B... More

Until we showed up we didn't realize we had stayed there before courtesy of UT Austin seminar. Walking distance to campus very convenient. Lovely beds and comfortable rooms. Outstanding breakfast that changes daily. Strongly recommend to short university stay

For a quick trip to Austin to visit an art-loving friend, this B&B was conveniently located to the Ransom and Blanton museums. Our room #9 was comfortable, but on the second floor, up the narrow winding staircase We arrived early and was greeted by an innkeeper who walked us to our room and let us store our luggage while It... I had stayed here once before, but had not made the arrangements myself. So I wasn't sure how this place compared to others in the area (around UT). On my return trip I considered alternatives in the area. Doing so, I realized what a great value the Folk House is. The location is great (and there is free parking in... More

I stayed here on a recent trip to UT Austin. The location is excellent for visits to UT, or for those who want to be close to the area. The B&B is pleasant, clean, has a certain amount of charm (though more funky in an Austin kind of way than overdone and in your face...which I found refreshing and relaxing).... More

Stayed during the Formula One Grand Prix weekend when accommodation rates all over Austin are virtually doubled. Would be a very good deal during non event times. Beautiful house filed with antiques on the edge of the University of Texas. A block and half away from a bus stop for Austin's very inexpensive bus system. Fantastic breakfast that will keep... Nice place. Kinda quirky like Austin. Friendly staff and owners, very helpful. Breakfast was over the top good. Blueberry stuffed French toast or the usual continental breakfast fair. No question ... Go for the French toast

I always prefer a nice B&B over an average hotel. I have found they run around the same price, and they are typically more comfortable. This B&B has several great things going for it. It is close to The Capital and Texas Museum, and University of Austin is just a few blocks away. Our room, #8, was simply furnished with... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks while doing research at the Harry Ransom Center at the University. It's very convenient for the University (about a 2 min walk to the Harry Ransom), and also close to plenty of good places to eat or drink. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfasts are amazing and the staff... More
