We loved the Heywood. Our room (#6) was perfectly comfortable and quiet. We were greeted by Maris, who gave us some excellent food recommendations (Qui, La Barbeque, Veracruz). If we come back to Austin, we will definitely stay here again.

Like staying with lovely thoughtful friends who just happen to own a luxury hotel! I just wanted to stay in my room it was so gorgeous! They've thought of everything. And the little outdoor seating area is lovely. The thing I was most impressed by though was the service. I'd just arrived off a transatlantic flight and was heading to...

I am so happy we choose Heywood during our stay in Austin, it made our experience that much better. The hotel is beautiful, clean and modern. But what I cannot praise enough is the absolutely wonderful staff. They are genuine, kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. My wife and I have been telling everyone about our trip. The great food and music...

I've stayed at many independent hotels in Austin, including the St Cecelia and San Jose, and the Heywood by far surpasses them in all aspects. The property is well designed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable without sacrificing design. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable, there's a full length mirror, lovely clean bathroom with plenty of room to get...

I'm going to get right to my point and main criticism of the Heywood. This hotel is not located in a neighborhood one would expect to see this type of property. The neighborhood might not be bad or unsafe but it is a very impoverished area of town. It is one property away from a funeral home and if you...

Dear TravelingBruin, We spoke by phone right after you posted this review and I thank you very much for your time and thoughts. I understand from the review and our phone conversation that you really liked the hotel, your king patio room, and our ridiculously devoted staff. We're glad your experience with the hotel was so positive and, as you...

I stayed at the Heywood for a night this past Summer, I booked one of their smallest rooms and had an excellent time. The room was extremely clean ( I am a bit of a nut about this) and the decorations were spot on. I also enjoyed the attention to detail the rooms had, for example, having "Archepelago Botanicals" as...

The Heywood is a hip, fun and convenient hotel. The rooms are interesting and very comfortable. But the best thing about the Heywood is the fantastic staff! They gave us great advice on what to do as well as where to eat and shop. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway weekend in Austin!

The delightfully unique boutique hotel Heywood Hotel on East Cesar Chavez is in an “up and coming area” that at first impression seemed less than desirable. Happily though, when I did venture out and about the locale I discovered perfectly friendly hipster style cafes, craft beer bars, quirky restaurants and great live music. I loved quirky Austin in all its...

This is an amazing small 7 room hotel. The style is modern and intimate and this does not do it justice to what a pleasant place it it. There are two sitting areas - one inside and one outside. The tone is welcoming and friendly but private. The rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was very sleek...

The Heywood combines the style of a modern, boutique hotel with all the friendliness of a family run B&B. Kathy and her team could not have been more helpful, offering bikes to those of us with enough energy to loop Lady Bird Lake, towels for our excursion to Hamilton Pool, great advice on places to eat and faultless directions in...
