This was day 2 lunch for my business trip. I wish I took more photos and of the other meals. If only you could see the steam coming off this plate, it was piping hot and ready for me. The food was delicious, I did not get sick and I was not restricted/limited like I typically am.

The Fairmont Austin garners accolades for its prime downtown location and amenities like the luxurious spa and attentive service, though guests have called out high costs for extras. While the rooms are generally well-received for their cleanliness and personalized touches, some travelers report housekeeping inconsistencies. Despite the peaceful ambiance within its walls, the construction noise by the pool has been a point of contention. Even with mixed feedback on the value due to additional charges, the hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness are often celebrated.

Honestly, this was a really nice hotel to stay in. I was here for work trip and pleasantly surprised at the quality of my room. Even the elevators interior glow with this beautiful white thin stone and lights behind it. Prices for food and drink aren’t cheap, but they also serve pretty decent dishes and cocktails. The pool was an added bonus. The pina colada is their strongest drink, also priced at $32. It comes in a real coconut and I will say for the money, you basically get two stiff drinks in there. I’d def come stay again if the opportunity presented itself. Lovely place!

This is my “go-to” hotel in Austin. I’m a fairly loyal Bonvoy member, but this hotel is enough to stray. Rooms are large, clean, Le Labo products, and generally a great value proposition.

The overall service was excellent! But the 2nd day we were there, we ended up keeping the do not disturb sign on the door until around 2:30pm, then took it off & left our room. We assumed room service would come at some point after that to do the bed, replace towels left on the floor, freshen the room. When we got back around 9pm, the room was left as is & was obvious no maid came. So, we called front desk to let them know. Brea Rose answered & she was very kind & offered to send someone to do whatever we needed to freshen up the room & asked what else they could do to make this right. At the moment, I just asked if they could bring an extra wash cloth & just throw bathroom garbage & take a couple of dirty towels left on the floor. But later, we needed fast WiFi for something important & asked Brea if they could offer the premium WiFi free to make up for the original no maid service. She immediately agreed & helped me patiently thru the process of setting it up! So grateful to Brea for her immediate help, kindness & professionalism!

As a tourist I can thoroughly recommend booking the Gold Experience, just select breakfast included, you will be within the top four floors with amazing views. Decent breakfast, evening snacks included and you can help yourself to hot and soft drinks any time of day or night. As we found where ever we stayed in Texas, guests and staff all extremely polite, cleanliness a high priority with very comfortable beds, spacious rooms with lovely bathrooms, generally a higher standard than you'd get in Europe.
No charge for late 1pm check out, our car rental commenced 3pm so we checked out at 2pm without extra charge due to making a noise complaint. Without doubt and by some distance, the Austin area easily has the most courteous car drivers I have ever witnessed anywhere in the World.

Fairmount Austin chosen for it's close proximity to the airport and Rainey Street. Two nights booked to relax by the lovely pool to recover from jet lag, from this point of view the Hotel failed miserably due to the continuous +90dB screeching noise from the immediate adjacent construction elevators. There are five external elevators in constant use from 6am until 6pm literally across the street giving no more than 30 seconds respite, I timed it. Ok not the Fairmount's fault but private apartments for rent in the area warn of this and their prices affected accordingly. The Fairmount really specializes for business conferences so they are not severely effected by this irritating noise but I would seriously avoid the Rainey Street district if you're a tourist seeking some relaxation. However, this immediate adjacent skyscraper exterior is nearing completion, 2025 it could be a better stay? Sadly the infamous Rainey Street itself is slowly diminishing giving way to numerous sky scraper developments which also blot out over 50% of the river view.
Prior to arrival I was offered upgrades but I already had Gold Experience? This was not 100% clear and the fact that I should check-in to concierge floor 35 was completely missed so wasted time queuing in the ground floor lobby, not ideal after 18 hours travelling.
I was also looking forward to utilizing the Goalpost Sports bar with it's stunning city view terrace and cigar smoking area, sadly this was completely booked for private functions for the entirety of our stay.
Main Fairmount Austin Texas picture needs updating, there is now a massive skyscrapper immediately in front of this Hotel.

The Fairmount of Austin while glamorous as you walk in as the view you see from the outside. The inside can be a two sided story. While booking the Gold experience which is highly promoted on their website getting there and checking in felt the same as anywhere else. From what I had read the top four floors were reserved for Gold experience but was pretty vague on what it included. After checking in at the top floor in the Gold experience lounge area I was given keys to the room and asked if I had stayed at this location. I replied I had not but was not approached with a helpful or friendly customer approach, I was given a pamphlet that stated times slots of food/appetizers that would be in the lounge. I was just pointed in the direction to where the room was from the lobby and had to figure out the rest on my own. Upon arriving to the room it was just a normal room that felt actually smaller than others for comparable price. No water bottles upon arrival, no problem I had mine just needed to chill them. I began to look for the mini fridge and to my surprise it was filled with their own concessions to sell such as cold snacks, alcohol, caffeined drinks and had no space for my own cold stuff. I then decided to see what the gold experience amenities were in the pamphlet which I was given in check in. The pamphlet just had my keys and different times that the Lounge was doing breakfast, giving snacks and having honor bar, but no directions as to if it was included or there was a surcharge or had to check out any items. I proceed to find out for myself to the Lounge to see what was included. I saw an employee replenishing food items and asked if I could get a margarita for my wife. The employee stated it was self serve but did not even glance to offer help and would always run away like if he was avoiding me when I had questions as to checking out for margarita or if anything in lounge was included or needed to be checked out. It wasn't until later I realized that I guess the Lounge was part of the experience but would have been much easier if had been told that from the check in. I interacted with a lot of employees there but the connection was not genuine and they were not there to help in any way. I wanted to book a nail appointment for my wife only to be told that the spa was open and when we arrived was told that it was closed that day. The pool looked to be under construction as far as the patio, the cabanas closed down and Tv's turned off, as if trying to keep guest out of the areas. All in all the Fairmount in Austin did have nice views and quite nightly stay but for the Gold Experience as a first time stay at this place I missed out of it until I learned what the stay actually included by myself. The employees not rude but seemed not welcoming to explain what the actual experience of Fairmount should be.

I was attending a conference in the Fairmont Austin and I was looking forward to experiencing another Fairmont Hotel and seeing a new city. (The Pacific Rim, Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver is my favourite hotel in the world).
It's easy to get to from the airport and its location is such that you can walk almost anywhere you may need to go straight from the hotel. I did not need a rental car.
It's close to restaurants, bars, live music venues, the river (great pathways for walking and running outdoors).
The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and I slept well (unusual for me in hotels).
One day my room did not get serviced before 5 PM (and I was out of the room at 7
AM) so I was annoyed that it did not get cleaned in those hours I was away.
The lobby bar was nice but the drinks were expensive (compared to other places we had been in Austin).
The conference rooms were large, spacious, well appointed and the food provided was exceptional!

Fairmont Austin has great reception service, concierge, cleaning staff and more. However, for luxe hotel offering premium prices, it lacked on finesse of some services. The pool service could improve a great deal. First the drinks should be much better for their price. A mojito that has no mint leaves or fresh lime juice, shouldn't cost you 14 dollars. Also we had a very weird experience at the pool when the staff lowered the volume of their music, allowing a guest to put their own music, which was fun at times, and incredibly inappropriate at other times with filthy language. The room was clean, well kept, and all amenities were great. Still talking overpriced, I think the breakfast buffet could improve by offering more natural, fresh items to compensate for the fee, but it wasn't as expensive as the pool drinks.

Fairmont Austin is a beautiful and clean hotel and has some great staff, but a few things let it down. Breakfast buffet, regardless of the pricey $30 a head, is poor and unappealing, and housed in what seems to be a large dimly lit cupboard, and for 1 gluten free person in our party, there was very little gluten free on offer, including no gluten free bread (miniature muffins only) and the breakfast staff don't really understand what was on offer or seemed to care, or generally looked after that buffet area. The small shop in the Hotel although pricey, and the IHOP across the road, were the saving grace for breakfast during our stay. Hotel pool on 7th floor could be great, but unfortunately the nearby building noise is often deafening and the new skyscrapers that are being built block out the sun for most of the pool by mid afternoon. Coupled with the fact that the pool area facing the sun in the morning is Cabana rental areas only, it's quite a let down. The self-park car park option is $54 a night (with tax) and although similar to other Hotels downtown Austin, it doesn't make it acceptable and most spaces close to the elevators are valet park only. To top that, the garage card system only works occasionally, and most times we needed to call help to get in or out the garage. The room we had was apparently an upgrade to the 37th floor, but the air con was deafening and didn't work correctly and eventually we had to switch rooms after just a few days, which to be fair the Hotel staff supported and offered, without any great fuss. There is also quite limited drawer storage space for such a large room, and too much space is given up to the mini bar and the coffee maker and kettle. Generally. the hotel seems to cater mostly for large corporate functions, which there were many during our 10 day stay, and doesn't seem to care so much about individual visitors or couples. The hotel staff did follow-up on some of the issues during our stay, but things like the breakfast buffet offering need a major overhaul in my opinion to match what should be on offer for a hotel of this calibre, rather than some tinkering around the edges.

Stayed at the Fairmont, Austin for 19 days in a corner suite with a fantastic view of the city. A great central location near Sixth street and Rainey. Seldom is included in your stay other than the basics, housekeeping were attentive and the room was always spotless. One of the best pools in the area, with a great staff, though you’re unable to bring any food or drink in with you. The Cabana hire is on the slightly expensive side, the benefits are, privacy, shade, personal service and unlimited soft drinks are included, all other alcoholic beverages are an additional expense. We hired a small cabana twice $600 and a large one once $800. The food at both on-site restaurants was good, the servers remember your tipple of choice which is a nice touch. During our stay here we spent c.$15,000. Probably not value for money, but we had a great time in ATX and that’s all that matters.

I have stayed at the Fairmont Austin many many times and it has always been terrific. However, this time when I got to hotel they didn’t have the room available I booked on the floor. Interestingly they immediately found rooms on the same floor for the two people I was traveling with who made reservations that morning. I didn’t I’d made them in advance. I’m also a platinum accor member. They ultimately found a room and said they needed 20 mins to clean it. Fine, whatever, but it took almost an hour. Then I found out the two guys i was traveling with had rates half of mine! I raised the issue with the attendants, who were nice, but did nothing. Then I filled out a complaint form online in my checkin review. I got an email about it and they said they had alerted the GM and they would call me. They never did, nor did they do anything about it. Very disappointing.

Dear Halanr226, First and foremost, please accept our most sincere apologies for the disappointing experience you encountered during your recent stay at the Fairmont Austin. We deeply regret that your visit did not meet the high standards we pride ourselves on providing, and we fully understand how frustrating it must have been to face these challenges after having enjoyed many stays with us in the past. It is certainly concerning to hear that the room you had booked was not available upon your arrival, and we can only imagine how inconvenient this must have been. We do take matters such as this very seriously and understand that this situation, compounded by the delays in preparing your room and the apparent inconsistency in rates, has understandably left you feeling disheartened. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to connect with you directly to discuss your experience in more detail. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are committed to addressing your concerns with the urgency they deserve. To facilitate this, please feel free to reach out to us at aus.guestexperience@fairmont.com. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye out for your email and respond promptly to ensure your concerns are fully heard and resolved. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and the lack of follow-up following your complaint. It is clear that we have fallen short of the expectations you rightly hold for us, and we are grateful for your patience as we strive to better ourselves in the future. We do hope that we may have the privilege of welcoming you back to Fairmont Austin and providing the exceptional experience you’ve come to expect from us. Warm regards, Guest Experience Fairmont Austin

I used Lyft, and it was quicker than expected. Just follow the airport rideshare signs—it can be a bit tricky, but it was a good choice.

Austin, Texas
While we do not currently operate a complimentary airport shuttle, our Concierge team would be happy to make arrangements for a black car service on your behalf! For more information on the different vehicle options and pricing available, please contact our Concierge. Once you have arrived on property, please inquire at our guest services desk about our courtesy BMW shuttle which is available on a first come first served basis to take you to any destination within ~1 mile of the hotel.
