My first visit to the area and pleasantly surprised with the inn. Good location, quiet except train which I prefer over traffic and clean, comfortable room. Also pet friendly. The only issue I have is not telling me upon check-in that they prefer you do not leave your dog in the room all day. This is in case the dog barks...

The Maverick Inn is the perfect spot for your trip to Big Bend. First, need to understand it is 1 1 /2 hour drive to the park, but a beautiful drive that goes quickly. Pack a picnic for lunch---there are spots in Terlingua, but it is 20-30 minutes form Terlingua to park headquarters. Now, to the Maverick. I think staying...

I was disappointed overall with this place, starting with the check in. We arrived and my son had to use the restroom badly, and the woman checking us in said "We don't have a public bathroom" and then continued to drone on about the pamphlet. I was taken aback - how about opening our hotel door for us or listening...

The person who checked us in was friendly and helpful. She immediately changed our room after we looked at the first one and expressed concern about traffic noise. The room was ok, the heater was very slow to "heat up". The morning was disappointing. The breakfast was very skimpy, not even any cereal to eat while we waited for the...

We arrived tired to find a very small room with an even smaller "bathroom". My wife wanted a tub after 5 nights of camping. None available. So, we wanted to move to the Hampton Inn but their 48 hour cancellation policy meant we had to pay for the room anyway. I booked on line due to the fact no one...

Staff was extra courteous especially since I had a late night check in. They made sure to still accommodate my needs and inform me of their procedures. Very nice one night stay. Alpine is beautiful and this hotel is a nice stop

This is a darling old style hotel but with all the modern conveniences - you feel like you have been thrown back into a Spanish casita. The accommodations are wonderful, the breakfast is homemade, and the grounds are gorgeous. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

What an awesome hotel. Love the decor. Super friendly staff. It was January but they had the heat cranked up in our room so we walked in and it was toasty. Great breakfast included. Very good wifi. Bathroom clean and shower was nice too. Will go back.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Room was very cute and cozy. Felt like a little cabin rather than a hotel. Beds were comfy, decorations were adorable, and we loved the feel of the entire property! The train was a little loud but you can't avoid that in Alpine. The hotel even provided ear plugs. We have already booked another weekend when we...
