The Alamo Inn offers nice accomodations, although older, very comfortable and is a PERFECT place for visiting bird watchers to the Rio Grand Valley. The host offers many in-sights for places in the area to see the wonderful birds of the valley. There is also an Outdoor shop for many clothing as well as guides or maps. There is an available self-serve...

We are birders, and wanted a central location to stay for 3 nights while in the Weslaco to Bentsen area. Keith was very accommodating to us even though we called just a few days before. We could not have been more pleased with the Hummingbird Suite. We ate our breakfast before we departed and packed a lunch. Have a full-size...

My husband and son and I were in Alamo for a funeral and the original place we'd booked turned out to be absolutely horrible. Thank goodness for smart phones! I found Alamo Inn and Keith got us set up in a fantastic 2 bed/2 bath suite. The bedrooms were charming and spacious. It was very nice having that extra bathroom,...

We initially booked three nights at the Alamo Inn, then we started extending our stay until eventually we spent our entire south Texas birding week here. Need I say more? Comfortable, reasonable, full kitchen, large rooms, well-stocked breakfast facility, expert birding advice, good location - it was a joy to know we had the inn to return to after every...

The title says it all. This is a fabulous place - a real find. Have stayed here twice now and loved it each time. The rooms are cozy and the owner is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

My Husband and I are Winter Texans. When our Motor Home needed to go into the repair shop for a week, we needed temporary lodging. Not just a place to stay, but someplace to store all of the refrigerator and freezer items that can't stay in the Motor Home while in the repair shop. While researching lodging in Alamo TX,...

We stayed in the Pancho Villa room on the 2nd floor. It was a one bedroom that was neat and tidy with a living area that included a comfortable sleep sofa, refrigerator and microwave with filtered water in the room. Pancho was the theme with interesting photo-pictures. Course the waist high rooster was an interesting touch. Each room had coffee...

We stayed here as part of a small birding group, and what a pleasant surprise. After the blandness of American Motels this is superb. Our room was exceptional. It had a large sitting room, with a small kitchen; a large bedroom with 2 queen beds and a small bathroom. it was set out in wild west style. The room was...

I'm a repeat visitor - almost annually for the last 8 years - and I'm sure there are other decent places to stay in the region, but the Alamo Inn is something I just can't help going back to. Prices are remarkably reasonable, and supporting a privately run lodging really helps local tourism dollars make an impact, rather than being...
