Detailed Reviews
The beds don't have fitted sheets just a mattress pad to hide the enormous amount of stains on the bed. Huge bloodstain on the side of the bed. Lights flicker if they come on at all. Mold in shower and cold hot handle was broken. Alarm clock and tv both broken. Coffee pot dirty smells of urine and smoke. Ac doesn't stay on. Floors are disgustingly filthy. Black in some spots. Staff rude to top if off, Never again!

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. Even though this stay was several months ago, we have always strived to offer a great combination of customer service and amenities. That’s something we pride ourselves on. If we fell short in any way during your stay because of maintenance issues or worn furnishings, I sincerely apologize. Sincerely, Hotel Manager

This was my first stay at the Super 8 in Addison. While I was a little disappointed with the room initially due to its old stained carpet and dark interior, I came to enjoy the quite location and unobtrusive service. This is a great value motel, especially if you're staying for a longer stretch, 2 weeks in my case.
I had a room with a comfortable king bed, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, free internet and abundant parking. Due to my longer stay, these amenities (especially microwave & fridge) really helped cut my travel costs. There is a Kroger grocery store a short drive away on Belt Line Road in a shopping plaza (that also includes a Target and dollar store) so I was able to stock up on food and necessities for my stay eliminating the need to eat out every night.
The location is excellent as it's situated on a quite residential street on one side, and restaurant row on the other. I often walked in the evenings to the nearby residential parks to sit and read by the ponds and fountains. There is quick and easy access to highways and the airport is about a 20 minute drive away.
Though I never really interacted with the staff other than to check in/out, housekeeping was always generous with coffee/tea etc but it's best to note that I left a tip every day of my stay to ensure good service.
Pros:
- great amenities
- quite
- safe
- well situated
- price
Cons:
- stained carpeting
- dark
- housekeeping uses overpowering cleaning solutions requiring the need to air out the room.
- no bars/screens on windows so for safety reasons, you can't leave the window open at night for fresh air.
Overall, while it is definitely not fancy, it is serviceable and very reasonably priced. The pros out weight the cons so I would happily stay at this motel again.

After not staying here for some time and being told they had remodeled, we stayed. The bed was clean and comfortable. The conditions of the furniture is disgusting. The drawers in the credenza look as if they had been chewed on by a mammoth sized dog. The chair was horrible and I wouldn't dare sit on it. The lamp shade over the bed had a big hole on the inside. While like I said the bed was clean, the floor was sticky and the overall appearance was not what I would call any where near remodeled.

There were a lot of flaws at this motel, but nothing that made us regret having chosen it for the cost savings. It was close to the event we came to attend, and we got an excellent price. The room was reasonably clean (not white glove clean, by any means, but nothing gross), there were no insects (I always check the mattress for bedbugs, even in the best hotels--no sign of them in the room), and the only thing not in working order was the light over the counter/sink. I was told at check-out when I mentioned this that it was on a timer, so maybe we just had to turn it off and back on again. The carpet was old and dingy, and oddly, there were uneven spots underneath it. I don't know if there was an old floor surface that was breaking up, or what.
The free breakfast was better than some we've had at motels like this. They did have a waffle iron, instant oatmeal packets, yogurt, fresh fruit (apples & bananas), packaged cinnamon rolls, breakfast cereal, and a few bread selections.
We didn't notice any problems with the neighborhood. It was a busy downtown area, but I don't recall noise being an issue. The bed was comfortable enough, and we slept well, but the pillows weren't great.
Sure, we would go elsewhere if we had an extra $30/night to spare, but this worked for us on our budget.

You definitely get what you pay for, old carpet, wallpaper coming off the walls, giant hole in the sink...
I was fortunate enough to be put in a room full of BED BUGS. I have several bites on my arms, legs, and torso. Went to the front desk to address the situtation, only to be told off the bat "I'm not giving you a refund", so I asked to simply move rooms. When maintenance went in the room they found more bugs inside my pillow cases and under the comforter. Absolutely disgusting.

The upkeep on this property is ridiculous! We stayed here over a year ago and thought maybe the little repairs that needed to be looked after would be by now. But not so. It was just as bad at then. The best thing was that the beds are clean, surprisingly. The carpet is icky, the bedspreads are old and icky. The chairs are so bad you don't want to sit down on them. The sink area is broken loose and at the seams and hang in disrepair. No doubt where the coffee pot leaked water out because of the slant. The linens in the bathroom are threadbare. The ice machine still does not work. Went to the lobby for coffee in the designated hours and not only no coffee, but no one around to talk to. If we didn't have to be there on family medical emergency we would have left. We would pay a higher price, but with the condition of the place we paid too much.

My husband stays there a lot for business and is fine with it. The staff was Very friendly both night and morning shift. It is old and very dated as my son who is 10 said mommy why is this TV in a box. I will keep sending my husband there for his one night trips because he likes a restaurant within walking distance but honestly the kids and I need a bit more of a modern feel. It is Great if you arent spoiled with modern things like my kids and I are!!!

I booked this hotel will in NY for my return back to Addison, TX. I usually stay at a Wyndham hotel that is really nice. This hotel looked nice, only on the surface.. nice decor in the room, but bathroom and sink were nasty. This was Addison area so was surprised it fell scale of 2. Since we had paid for the 3 night stay we waited it out but was not at all pleased. Booked same day of checkout at Days Inn Plano, much upscale.

I should have been tipped off that something was wrong when the hotel demanded full payment upfront for a 3-night stay. I was tired, though, when I arrived, knew nothing about the area, and just wanted to go to bed, so I said okay to paying up front. Then, I discovered problems one by one.
The instructions for the air conditioning unit wore off long ago. I had difficulty determining which knob was for heat and air conditioning and which was for temperature. Then, after determining which was which, I had more difficulty determining which way to turn the first knob for air conditioning and which way to turn the second knob for cool air.
There was mold in the bathroom, as well as torn wallpaper, as well as a towel rack barely attached to the wall, and cigarette burns all over the plastic tub.
The light over the sink came on after 30 minutes of waiting, the sink didn't drain well, there was a huge stain in the sink counter, and the carpet on the floor around the sink was so loose as to be a trip hazard.
A lamp shade was broken, the dresser was broken, the television worked intermittently, the WiFi crawled at a snail's pace, and the safety bolt on the door was barely attached to the door frame (anybody could have forced their way through).
I got maid service the first day of my stay but not the second day. The clerk, who might have been an owner working 24/7, looked exhausted and he had only one phrase, "I am sorry". He had no answers.
Worse yet, Super 8 seems to have no inspectors or secret guests to stay at the hotels in their chain to see if their hotels are up to par. I realize that this is a budget chain but this hotel doesn't deserve to be in an budget chain.
The one positive thing about my stay was that the bed was both clean and comfortable, and that the pillows were reasonably comfortable, as well.
My stay was bad enough that I took some pictures of the room. I recommend avoiding the Super 8 in Addison. If there is nowhere else to stay, don't pay for the entire stay up front.
