So I called Lawanda back in January about a room for one night during the highway 127 yard sale and she said "Sure, I'll have something for you.". So until last week I didn't know what "something" would be, but I was pleased to have that something, because rooms are impossible to get months before the sale. But we ended...

We really liked it. I grew up in Jamestown when I was real little and I still have family there and go back and visit. My husband and I stayed there for a week and it was perfect to have family over and PRETEND LIKE I still lived there. :-) We really didn't use the TV; as I recall there's...

My husband and daughter spent New Years Eve at the OId School House. Having grown up in the area but moved away 30 years ago, I had always wanted to stay there. The house was very clean and warm which is especially important on such a cold weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Mrs Gernt was very pleasant throughout...

The owner, Mrs. Gernt(not Gertz) even stopped in to make sure we had everything and pointed us in the direction of the local, family run grocery named Burnett's. After...

My husband and I stayed at the Allardt School House while visiting Pickett State Park & Historic Rugby. The location was great - easy to find, a lovely view, and close to our areas of interest. The remodeled "school" was beautifully restored and decorated with antiques and the large front porch and rocking chairs were a nice touch. At first...

I contacted Lowanda Gertz on June 21 to inquire about making reservations at the Allardt School House for 2 nights arriving July 31. I received an email stating we were booked and no deposit was required to secure our reservation. July 30 I emailed and called Mrs. Gertz to ask about picking up the key and paying when we arrived...

Rudness to the core! It was so bad we never even got to stay at the schoolhouse! I called to reserve a room for my husband, 4 month old daughter and myself for one night. I was told that a 4 month old wouldn't work out. The other room was rented to some "great customers" and they wanted to keep...
