With my expectations low because of the "motel" stigma, I was pleasantly surprised to find the staff friendly, the rooms clean and beds comfortable. I enjoyed the Tropicana shampoo that was supplied. While there was nothing special about the decor, the AC worked very well. I was there during the 95 degee heatwave and was never uncomfortable in the room. Even though reception said there would not be continental breakfast available due to Covid, to our surprise, there was a nice spread available in the morning!
Very good location but the parking lot knocks it down one star as there are really only about 1/2 the needed parking spots. We got there relatively early and there were no onsite spots left. We were told to park next door in the strip mall's parking area and "it should be ok". It was still there the next am but I was a hair nervous about parking over there. The room was decent, although the tub/shower is warn a bit with a couple of sizeable chips present. The charge was very reasonable which is what attracted us in the 1st place. And we did get a restaurant recommendation that was pretty good within walking distance.
Had pleasant stays here in the past, but traveling 3 weeks ago and checking on availability, I couldn't believe how rude the man at the front desk was. I had seen a posting on Expedia, when I asked for info, this person, snarling, said, "we don't have anything to do with Expedia, they do their own thing". Maureen Kearney
Stayed here last night. Everything worked well. Comfortable bed, good shower, thick towels, nice staff, A.C. worked fine. Breakfast is English Muffins and bananas. Only suggestion would be to add another toaster or two for the muffins and yogurt would be a nice low effort addition. We will definitely be back.
Though not quite walking distance to OSF theater district, the location has a good market, several family style restaurants, and easy access to OSU. Rooms were clean, well maintained, and quiet. Manager, Jeff, was most accommodating and obviously cares about satisfying guests. Ample though not spectacular contenential breakfast. My wife and I have stayed there for many years when attending OSF.
