This is my first time to stay here and I was very impressed. Everything was clean, looked very nice and modern. Due to Covid Dash 19, there were some limitations to eating in the bar and grill or things like that. But as I was there for work I didn’t have much extra time and the pizzas I ordered tasted great and just pick them up and took them back to my room. The beds were comfortable but the view was amazing if I go back again, I’m going to ask for the same room!

We were only able to get a balcony room for one night so I grabbed it. We arrived early and the pleasant lady at the front desk apologized that most of the rooms were not ready because they just had 119 guests leave. There was one balcony room available but the view was not ideal. I was happy to take it since we were early & really wasn’t planning on spending time on the balcony, which was pretty small.
The staff was very nice. I would like to mention one young man at the pool in particular. His name was Paris & he was Jonny on the spot when a toddler tried to leave the pool area. Once the mom located him she announced he likes to wander. Paris & another female staff member were great with the child asking to point out their parent.
Our room was nice and clean. Great amenities. Our balcony door did not lock but we did not report it. The TV wasn’t working but once reported someone immediately came up to fix it. We were awakened at 8am from housekeeping. Our fault for not putting the do not disturb sign on the door, but typically they don’t come until after you check out.
Doc’s food was a disappointment. Especially the breakfast buffet for $15. They had syrup but no pancakes waffles or French toast. The food was really mediocre at best.
The pool was nice but overcrowded & trying to find a place to land was a struggle. The drinks were good, & I enjoyed having a pool bar and restroom nearby.
The anchor gaming facility was really nice. There were folks there that I took for members that seemed entitled. Folks walking around like they had large bank accounts would literally walk in front of you to get equipment or a drink. It seemed the bartenders would cater to them. I have felt more welcomed at a fancy resort in Maui.
There is not really any shaded areas for the outside activities. But, I bet the facility would be nice in the fall.
It appeared that the place was struggling to hire enough folks. More bartenders would probably be helpful.

A group of us stayed at the Shangri-la this past weekend. The resort has many amenities but if you’re looking to have a good “adult” time, probably look elsewhere. The hotel virtually shuts down at 12am. The bars on property close at midnight and you aren’t allowed to sit by the pool after 1am. We went up to our room with a couple of friends and received a noise complaint at 2am. After midnight there’s pretty much nothing to do and nowhere to go, on and off the island. This was all on a Friday night too. We aren’t a rowdy bunch either, just a group of 30-40 year old professionals who were on a weekend getaway. It felt more like a retirement community than a resort.

Having a fun day on the lake with friends, we stopped by the marina to have lunch at Docs bar and grill. Very clean, lots of nice courtesy docks for leaving your boat while your out and about on the resort. We were VERY impressed with a kind young gentleman by the name of Joshua he worked at the marina helping people with gas, parking their boats and so on. He went above and beyond with great work ethic. The food and service at Docs was very good as well.

First time visitor and it does take awhile to get to it, but I guess that is the charm of the area. Room check in went great. Got to the room and a few hiccups happened..
The bathroom door would not shut and another door really dragged on the floor. We called and they quickly moved us to another room available.
Caveat... room 200-208 even numbers are looking at the back of a concrete building, and this is something that might come up and beware of.
3rd floor or higher will get you a better view of the lake and golf course.
Room was good.. missing was a luggage rack, but that may be minor thing to you
Morning continental was what was expected and plenty of it.
Unless you eat on site, the negative is that you have to take the windy road to town.
We will be going back soon for the golf and maybe have time for fishing next time.
They are in the process of expanding next door and when that is completed, it will be a positive.

The wife and I decided to travel a little bit for our anniversary. We normally only go about an hour away from home. We were at Grand Lake over the summer and love it. So when my sister told us about Shangri La Resort we had to try it. I will say our overall experience was outstanding. We will go back. I will start with the room that is my only complaint. We could hear our neighbor's every sound, bathroom, tv, and voice. The room itself very nice, clean and had a great view. Now let me talk about the staff. Over the top is how I would describe them especially the gentleman who drove the shuttle bus and delivered supply to our room. I wish I would have gotten his name. I do know that he was in the military at one point in time. All the staff was great. Very helpful and ready to serve. The weather had everything shut down and I thought our anniversary was going to be a failure. We had to plans for nice dinners and Massages and was getting the news everything was closing. Then the wonderful staff to care of us. Move our messages to be done before they closed and give us a discounted rate for a third night. Overall great place and we enjoyed ourselves. This place is worth the drive.

Our family ended up staying here last minute after our original plans fell through. While we were there our son had a bike accident and everyone who worked there went above and beyond to help us, from the bellman who stopped on his way to work to see if we were okay and then delivered us ice to our room, to the front desk staff that made sure we had all the medical supplies we needed and even the restaurant that gave him ice cream because his face was so swollen he could hardly eat anything. They made a tough weekend for a kid so much better. We would definitely recommend Shangri-La in Grand Lake and we will be back.

We stayed here for a long weekend and it was very enjoyable. We did have issues with WiFi, cable TV and couldn't call out with the phones. Although invasive, they came and fixed it right away. The staff was friendly. We paid extra for a room with a view and balcony. It was clean. We wanted to use the spa but they were never available to book. We even emailed in advance and didn't get a response. It ould be due to Covid. The hotel will tell you that you will be able to enjoy all the amenities that the club members enjoy but this is not the truth. They will encourage you to book a meal at the Summit Restaurant. Please don't book there if it is a special occasion. It will disappoint. You will not be celebrating if you are not a member. Read the reviews. This is often expressed by guests of the Hotel. They throw hotel guests at the bar or up against the wall. You will not be enjoying the views that they brag about at the Summit and they will literally tell you that the members are their priority. They aren't even discrete about it. In the end this is a great hotel just know that you are supplementing the elitists.

Our stay was an excellent all the way around. Beds were super comfy and room was spotless. Great view of the lake. All employees were friendly and helpful. One small problem was easily and cheerfully remedied by a room change. Pool is beautiful, too bad it was too cold to swim.

All the employees were very friendly. That being said, never get a room on the ground floor. It was exactly like the commercial with the cloggers that live upstairs until @ midnight. At one we were awakened with people drinking and smoking cigars on our patio right outside the room. In the morning we discovered that the only breakfast started at 11am. There are not any restaurants close by that were open. So if you don't want to eat or sleep this is the place for you. We were dissappointed in our visit.
