We visited the Azur restaurant on January 29, 2024, for dinner, and it was an amazing experience. The ambiance of the restaurant outside was nice, yet we chose to stay inside as we wanted to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. We made a reservation, so they reserved a place with table decorations. The food was yummy, and restaurant manager Chamara was very helpful and keen on details. Though the restaurant was quite busy, he managed to serve everyone well. After the dinner, they bought the cake, and it was yummy and nicely done. It was a great dining experience.

The Hotel Jen has a lovely rooftop bar with great views. We had 6 hours between seaplane transfers and our international flight so we took the ferry ($1 per person) from the airport and walked five minutes to the hotel. We highly recommend it if you have a long wait between flights.

Since male does not have any alcohol, we ordered some cute mocktails and some appetizers - loved them!

We stayed at this hotel twice, first night when we are arrived in Male and another night when are came back from the resort and had waited for the plane to return home. The service from all the hotel staff are very exceptional, clear explanation from them.

The rooms are indeed small compared to most rooms in other Asian countries due to small island landbank availability, please don't compare with another big asian countries , but with it's strategic location, we can surround Male city easily, and all the staff are very helpful and they are very cheerful and agile at work.

Another surprises for us, when Front Office Manager, Nagy gave us AFC soccer tickets only for free, because our son love the soccer games, and Nagy silently was very concern about it. It is truly an unforgettable moment, we will surely return to Maldives especially for HJMD.

Thanks for all HJMD staff, hope you will always keep the great services. Two thumbs up for you guys.

The Jen Hotel is ideally located for the business traveller to the Maldives. It is well priced (not an expensive resort hotel) and is readily accessible to the whole of Male. The hotel is a no-frills hotel, much like a typical business stay hotel close to international airports. It has good restaurants and its buffet breakfast is the equivalent of any served in the fancier and more expensive resorts.

My only complaint is that room service did somehow forget to clean my room on two occasions.

Such a nice hotel in the heart of the city. 15 minutes from the airport. They picked up us with their vehicle, the experience was really great and we were really impressed with the health and safety measures they have taken in the hotel from the moment we enter till the moment we departed. Room was nice with ocean view and rooftop restaurant was amazing. I read few reviews before deciding to stay there and I do agree with the comment about the hotel needing an update / refurbishment specially the room and rooftop restaurant. Overall 10/10 well done and thanks for the wonderful stay.

It was a pleasure to to try Hotel Jens iftar menu for 2021. I got to say, everything was perfect. One of the first things i noticed was the effective post pandemic safety measures throughout the hotel. We had the iftar at lime restaurant where the tables were set at safe distances, the cutleries packed individually. As usual the staff at Jen were amazingly hospitable, friendly and helpful. The festive decorations and food was superb. Really brought on the spirit of Ramadan. And the buffet spread had us going back for seconds. It was a Mediterranean/Asian mix and it was all so good. My personal favorites were the roast beef, biriyani, hummus and pita, chocolate shawarma and baklava. Also love that there is a huge selection of salads available. The atmosphere, food and impeccable service makes Jen the ideal choice for either corporate iftars or one with family and friends. Would definitely go back again.

1. Transport to hotel very awfull

2. After Check In when we went to room, room was super small for a excutive delux room, hot and humid

3. Room was very smelly

4. Toilet seat was broken and the plug in sink was broken couldn’t open

5. Bath tub is super small and dirty

6. Shower is not a 3in1 rain shower its a hand spray they put against wall

7. None of the rooms has proper sea view, buidings in front of you and you can see into other peoples apartments and loads of flying foxes.

8. Bed is super un comfortable everyday we had body pain and stomach pain.

9. And we had a emergency back in our country we cancelled our other 2 days due to the emergency they said they can’t refund our other 2 days. What a terrible flexability and understanding for guests emergencies. That proofs they don’t care about their guests. They only care about the money

I highly don’t recommend this hotel to guest to visit

I travelled to the Maldives on business and ended up staying at the Jen for one month. Having travelled all across the globe staying in 1-5 star locations, I can unequivocally say that the staff at the Jen topped by lifetime experience. They were exceptional from the time the doors were held open to welcome me with a thermometer reading to reception taking care of all my needs including recommendations to shop, eat and facilitating PCR tests in my room. The restaurant staff was my highlight, since I enjoy eating! The fact that everyone seemed to enjoy their job and wanted nothing more than to make my stay special was observed across the board. I wish I could give every name, however there is no room in this space to detail how I came to this conclusion. I am sure to have missed many, but please know that there was not one person I encountered this month who fell below my expectations. They are well trained and perfectly selected for their jobs. Each employee loves their job and it shows in their demeanor and actions. Kudos to the hiring managers at the Jen. Of note are Faan, Rauyan, Nabeelu and Layal at reception; the restaurant staff Riyas, Louis, Nepo, Nawa, Arun, Shakwath and Samantha. My deepest apologies for leaving some out as I do not recall the names, but I will return.

So we went late for lunch cause of our flight timings, yet they called back the chef to freshly prepare us food and he took note that we were vegetarians, the food was simply brilliant!
Rooms were great, had 1 deluxe and 1 elite. Deluxe is excellent.
Place is peaceful, not next to a noisy environment, we ordered pizza for dinner from Pizza Mia, was good too. Its easy to go to the main site attractions in the city from here, just walk for 2-5 mins.

We were arriving in Male after 5pm which is when the seaplane connections to resorts end. Instead of taking a commercial flight and then a boat to our resort we opted to stay at this hotel for one night and head to our resort early the next day. It seemed like everyone there was either coming or going from another island resort. It was highly organized and the hotel actually coordinates with the seaplane service and let's you know what time you need to leave the hotel. The hotel also provides complimentary water shuttle service to/from the airport. This is the perfect hotel to stay at in Male for connections to other islands.
We did not leave the hotel at all as its in the middle of bustling downtown Male and there doesn't seem to be much to do so I don't know if I could recommend it besides a transit hotel.
The rooms were clean and there is actually a great rooftop pool and restaurant that has a great view of Male International airport for the avgeeks out there.

Yeah shouldn’t not be a problem. The staff is quite accommodating. Just ask for extra bed and practice hygiene. I would suggest carry extra sanitizers with u.
