Intended to do a bit of shopping at Midvalley. Of course the Hotel that is attached to it is the Cititel. Check in was fast and the reception was friendly. The room was comfortable and I took the deluxe room. It is not as big as few deluxe room that I experienced.
However the toilet is excellent. It came together with bath tub and shower cubicle. I always commented that in the modern era, travellers prefer shower cubicle rather than bath tub and it is much more safer.
Breakfast was nice ,it was not excellent but delicious. Due to Covid safety precaution , they serve ala carte style but unlimited supply 'eat all you can'. You feel safe enough as you don't have to wonder how many people actually have touch the buffet spoon.

Stayed at Cititel several times before but i guess it was the first time booking a superior room. Totally dissappointed as the room was very tiny and in fact claustrophobic. Not enough space to place your big luggages too.

Because i had 4 nights booked at the accommodation, i quickly requested for a room upgrade to a deluxe room which is way better and there is space. However, the rooms as compared to other hotels are old and i do not understand why there is a tall mirror facing my twin-sharing room. What i dislike is also the shower. There is only an inbuilt soap holder which means there is no way you can place your shampoo conditioner or own bath gel anywhere except on the floor which totally pissed me off.

The location is excellent which was why i booked the property. But the room is run down. I tried to on the TV but it wasn't working. I asked my brother to help and after a good 5 -10 min, he realize that the TV wasn't even plucked in. Minus points for housekeeping for me. Out of the 4 nights, housekeeping also did not top up bedroom slippers on one of the nights. Do that's a minus point too.

Given the price that i need to pay for my upgrade, i will try The Gardens or The Boulevard Hotel which is also connected to MidValley Megamall during my next visit. These properties will have pool facilities that Cititel doesn't offer and rooms are newer and more modern.

Anyway, there was a good spread at breakfast which doesn't disaapppoint. Staff are friendly too.

Clean and basic room. Housekeeping was attentive. The location was fantastic, the Midvalley mall was connected to the hotel and you could have eateries, cinemas and Thai Spas. Great for a staycation . Restaurants were abundant. There were times when the neighboring room was smoking and I had to put a towel below the door to prevent smoke smells from infiltrating my room, I wish they would ban smoking

You can get something better nearby with the amount you paid to stay here. By itself, the hotel location is ideal as we can access to the mall and do the shopping list. However, we think big improvement is required on what the hotel can provide to hotel guests.
1- check in at reception: we didn't get the immediate attention from the front desk staffs and there was one guest need assistance as well. There were actually 2 staffs on duty and they were playing on their phones. We volumed up and finally they came to help with an unhappy face.

2- car parking: We need to know the operation hours of parking lots since we may come home late after dinner gathering. The staffs may not familiar or not knowledgeable to tell the correct infos. It ended up we have walked 12 mins next to the road at 12am as the parking is only available during mall time while we were informed differently. The worst was the night shift staff just shrugged when we arrived at reception and checked again about the parking stuffs.

3- room cleanliness: It smelled of mould which showed noone staying here for quite a while and the staffs just served to the guests directly. To be honest, It is a 4 star rated hotel and we expect the average standard at least for the room cleanliness which affects the most for your guests stay.

We will not recommend to our family and friends when they visit Malaysia even the location is ideal and convenient but it definitely not worthy!

This is a tourist class hotel which is conveniently located within the shopping mall of Mid Valley. We had pre booked 2 Superior Double rooms which were interconnected as we were a family. At checkin we were already disappointed as the gentleman at reception insisted that I use a physical credit card for payment despite telling him that I wanted to make a digital payment for safety reasons. Not having used a physical card in a long while, I’d forgotten the PIN number so the payment was rejected. Finally this gentleman relented after a couple of failed attempts and allowed me to make a digital payment! However, it appeared that he didn’t know how to activate such payments as there were several failed attempts until a colleague came to demonstrate how it had to be done. Then on enquiring why the total cost was much more than when booked through Booking.com, he couldn’t give me the reason except to mutter that there were additional charges. However, I knew that the additional charges included the tourist and service charges as I’d read about these charges earlier. When we were finally shown our rooms, it was a surprise to realise how small the rooms were. There was nothing “superior” about them at all! It had barely any space for 1 piece of luggage, let alone 2 pieces. The saving grace for this hotel is really its location. Training is definitely needed for the staff so that the angst which I encountered at checkin is not repeated.

Stayed there 1 nights on January. Just located in Mid Valley Megamall quite convenient to buy stuff and food. Staff is very helpful, I went there early in the morning to keep my luggage first due to check in time start from 2pm/3pm and I have to attend event. Maybe I maked booking last minute through online platform before 1 day check in so in the beginning the staff seems can't find my booking, but in the end found it. I can see he is trying hard to find it out and he did it. 🫢 Room is very clean but there is no mineral water provide have to use jar provided in room go to outside and fill water by yourself. You can also boil water by yourself if you feel that is trouble to go out and fill water, electric kettle is provided. Lastly, I feel chinese dish at breakfast buffet need to improve 🤣

Central, convenient for shoppers. But not a great hotel. A bit over priced for the low standards.
No gym. No pool.
Breakfast is good. But staff were lazy. Always trying to not do their job.
The egg chef wouldn't make poached eggs...just pointed to the half-boiled eggs as the same.
The room cleaners kept asking us if we wanted the room cleaned even though we'd already told him twice already to do it.
With the air con turned off the room smelled off stale socks.
With the AC on it was noisy.

Staycationed here during the CNY. Didnt expect the room to be small in size but it was just nice for my husband and I. Clean and no problem with the bathroom. Just wishing the bathroom has more storage space. Due to Covid, breakfast is in-room dining and the food came from their other hotel chains. Even so, the food came very fast after placing order through the phone which amazed me. And they tasted good too! A lot of selection and they definitely didnt skimp on the portion and variety so we enjoyed our breakfast very much. Hotel is attached to Mid Valley Megamall so it is very convenient.

Great location for a get together with friends. As for the food, I enjoyed the cakes n pastries (especially the carrot cake) which were tasty, and also the delicious chicken rendang. However, i can't say the same for some of the other dishes. Bubur chacha was bland. Maybe fish could be served boneless as one doesn't want to be struggling with bones while chatting.

It’s not really connected. But they are sort of right next to each other. The safest way is to get into the mall from the coffee bean side and then follow the directions towards garden hotel. There are signages showing the direction towards Garden Hotel. You won’t miss it.
