A wonderful discovery. I have always selected the hotels in KL based on location which is near Pavilion, Starhill or KLCC as that’s where my meetings are held. I was asked to try EQ instead as my company has an ESG position and it turned out EQ is the only Green Building Gold 5 star hotel in town.
I was booked into a Deluxe room with a view of Twin Towers (big plus) and the bed….was amazing. It’s so comfortable , air cond was quiet and there’s always a nice, subtle fragrance in the room. Breakfast was sumptuous and there is an amazing Japanese restaurant “Kampachi” there and the Etoile Bistro has great coffee and conducive for meetings too. The best part is this hotel is like 5-6 minutes walk to both KLCC and Pavilion if you go to B1 and walk from the road outside Etoile there. I never realised before.
I will stay here again when I am back! 5 star experience and rooms are indeed better than other 5 stars in the city.

Just had a wonderful 2 night stay here with my mum during the Chinese New Year long weekend. I was extremely impressed with the hotel from the moment I arrived at the hotel's car park when the security guard on duty voluntarily stepped forward to assist me in transferring my mum from the car to her wheelchair. This type of service is almost impossible to find in KL. The high level of service continued throughout my stay with practically every member of staff I met smiling and greeting me. The room was large and spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The food in EQ is also of a high quality and the buffet in Nipah is well worth the price. The swimming pool is gorgeous and it is so relaxing just to sit and enjoy the evening breeze by the pool. The only fault I can find is that the air-conditioner in the room took a bit too long to cool down the room. However, all in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had stayed here in September 2020, it was my daughter's birthday and there was a special offer for those celebrating a birthday in the month, we could check in early morning and check out late evening the next day, the package also include breakfast and lunch.

Checking in was perfect in the morning, the check in process was smooth with the RMCO sop, services provide by staff during checking in was excellent. As we walked into our room there was a surprise for our daughter, there was balloons and some other items with Birthday greetings layed out on the bed for her, she was really happy and excited, a small birthday cake and macarons was the icing on the cake, it was a great start to our stay. We were happy with our room, it was large enough and comfortable for us two adults with a child and amenities in the room was all as to our expectations, all 5 stars standards, a very comfortable king size bed, with views of the KLCC twin towers.

We had breakfast and lunch meals at Nipah restaurant, food dishes that we had all tasted delicious, there was a variety of Asian and western dishes at the buffet, service was excellent too at all times. We had take away coffees and cakes at Etoile cafe and bakery, the cakes was delicious.

We spent time in the afternoon at the pool deck area, a large pool deck with a long infinity pool, a vitality pool, pool deck sitting area at one section and by the swimming pool too, great venue to just chill out and enjoy the city views, we spent time here swimming in the infinity pool,  relaxing and chilling out at the pool cabanas.

The EQ hotel is located at a very centralised location in the CBD,  it is very convenient to walk to the Suria KLCC mall and Twin Towers from the hotel, we had walked down to the mall in the evening for some shopping.

Overall, we as a family had a great stay and we enjoyed every minute if our time spent here for our short Staycation. Plus point about the EQ hotel is their staff, the Front desk staff do provide exceptionally excellent services at all times, during checking in and out, and my few experiences walking by the Front desk there is always a staff that greets me any time if the day, it makes a guest feel recognised and welcome. We look forward to our next Staycation here in the future.

Dear Hafiz300, Thank you for taking the time to rate and review us. We are so glad that you enjoyed our Celebrate in the City offer which has been so popular that we've extended it every month since! It really brings us great joy to be able to surprise our guests and assist them with their every need. Nipah definitely is a great restaurant with the best of local cuisine all day long. Étoile also prepares fresh pastries and European meals throughout the day with plenty of exciting choices available. Sanctum Wellness is perfect for guests who want to relax and take their minds off of the hustle-bustle. Our infinity and vitality pools offer great views of the city with a tranquil setting. Our convenient location in the heart of the city is surely a great benefit, being a walk away from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Suria KLCC. We are well-known for our warm hospitality and services and look forward to having you soon again. Warmest regards, Tiffany Chung Public Relations Manager

This hotel is the new successor to a local Kuala Lumpur hotel called The Equatorial Hotel, known for its quality as a businessman's hotel for decades and which was closed a few years back for reconstruction. Its decor now is contemporary with modern top quality finish and facilities. It has a French cuisine restaurant called Sabayon on the 51st floor, which also has a bar with excellent view of the city landscape. The coffee house, Nipah, is located at the ground level and serves a wide spread of local and Western food for buffet breakfast. It has an outdoor pool on the 29th floor together with a spa as well as a gymn. There is also space for Yoga lessons. The hotel and restaurant staff are all courteous, friendly and ever ready to help. We booked a Premium King room which was upgraded to the Club Access Studio Suite. It has ample modern furnishing with 2 large flat screen TVs, walk in dressing area and a living area. However, it lacks a docking station for the iPod. The bathroom has modern amenities. Its location is good in that the surronding area has good landscape. Its location is a walking distance away from malls and the busy tourist frequented areas of Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Alor. The light rail transit station is just a mere walk away. In the evenings on weekdays, travelling to or from this hotel might be a challenge and one would be well advised to allow for more time in the car as this area is usually very crowded on weekday evenings.

Dear LaiWingYong, Thank you for the very detailed description and review of our Hotel. We appreciate this very much. The legacy of the former Equatorial is something that we proudly have built on at the new EQ and it was nice to read that our staff displays that same spirit and attitude in their service delivery. The setting is definitely unique and more modern and we are happy you appreciated that. The Hotel actually has two entrances, one at Jalan Sultan Ismail and one at Jalan Perak, which is helpful also during traffic hour. I also thank you for your suggestion for making a docking station available for the iPod. We really look forward to welcoming you again and thank you for your patronage to our EQ. Warm regards, Robert Lagerweij General Manager

We stayed for 3 days 2 nights during CNY. The room was well kept with amazing KLCC view. We had a pleasure watching lion dance at the lobby.

We planned to have lunch at Nipah but when we went there the staff said it was fully booked. We walked away but she quickly catch us to confirm if we were hotel guests. Upon been informed, she made a quick action by informing us that she will checked on the reservation and update by 1.30 pm. The staff called us before 1 pm to inform availability. The buffet was not much varieties but everything tasted excellent especially fish curry and grill lamb.

The vitality pool surely help to release my stress. The infinity pool was spacious to accomodate the guests.

Overall the hotel service was excellent with proactive housekeeping to restaurant staff who greeted by name during breakfast.

I can’t stress how much I love staying in this hotel. Been to a couple renowned hotel brands but nothing beats the service they provided over here. From the moment you stepped your foot into the hotel until the moment you checked out, the staffs never failed to produce service with excellency. Special thanks to the team, Mr Irwan, Ain, Hamidah, Mr Kumar, Shahir, Zainal and everyone else for making my business stay feels like vacation. Also, sending much love to Lenu, Fiezam, Masami and Petricia for accommodating my requests.
Ps: the hotel is so thoughtful into sending small details such as chocolates and providing hand sanitizer everywhere even in the room!

If you are looking for a hotel that will put your mind at ease during these times of COVID-19, I highly recommend staying at the EQ. The Deluxe King Room is spacious, with a good view of the city. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the surfaces, and was touched to receive a platter of fruits and a box of chocolates to welcome me. Most of all, it is the attention to little details that deserves praise, such as the bottle of hand sanitizer in the bathroom. While certain amenities like the pool and the gym was closed, I still recommend the EQ as a great hotel to stay at if you are looking for a change of scenery that will still reassure you about hygiene and cleanliness.

My husband has booked the dinner at Sabayon and also 1 night stay over the hotel. We just get to know upon check in this hotel is brand new which just opened on last year March therefore everything is very new and grand classic. On top of that, they have upgraded our room with twin tower view. The room view was amazing. And surprisingly is the hotel really put lot efforts to impress the guest and put us into a very memorable stay with them. Other than their professional service and enthusiasm spirit, they have secretly arrange a simple romantic room deco with cake and chocolates, that's really touched our heart. Room is facilitated with all good quality of amenities and the extra seasonal item like hand sanitizer, mouthwash, bath salt and even bath sponge.. Nevertheless you definitely will have comfort stay with all the complete items and superb view. But due to covid period, we have missed out to use their facility like pool or sauna or spa. But with this round stay experience, we will go back again 1 day.

They did very good precaution and also covid safety SOP for all the areas like breakfast area or even the rooftop dining restaurant.

Good job EQ team! Thanks a lot for the hospitality.

Booked a room though booking.com for a 2D/1N stay in conjunction with the New Year Eve and Hubby's B'day celebration. Few weeks before my arrival, the hotel reached out to me twice to ask if there's anything that they could assist us and if there's anything that we need. I also followed and added them in Instagram and instantly I received a private message from the Marketing Team and I was really impressed with their top notch customer service. Really have to commend them on that.

On the day arrival, things were smooth although we have to wait a while for the check in as it was a full house due to the peak season. We were brought up to the Club at Level 50 for the check in and it was really thoughtful of them. Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient and we never felt so warm in a hotel before even in other 5 stars property. Requested for a room facing KLCC so that we could watch the fireworks on the eve and they did fulfill our request.

Room wise, it was perfect as it was tastefully decorated, new, clean and well functioning. We were really comfortable staying in the room despite some minor hiccup with the TV. Called housekeeping and few minutes later, the technicians promptly came and fix it.

As for the new year eve countdown, we were supposed to watch the fireworks in our room, however, we heard that the rooftop bar a worth for a visit and coincidently, we ended up partying there. To all travellers / guests, if you are coming to EQ, please do visit SKy51 as you will be amazed with the beauty of the rooftop bar and the whole KL skyline!

For dining, we had the opportunity to dine at Nipah for the breakfast and lunch buffet and although food was not much variety, it was delicious. Service was very good and we had no complaints on that.

And oh, do visit the Infinity & Vitality Pool as well! You will not regret it!

Overall, we truly had a fantastic stay in EQ and we fell in love instantly with it. From the cleaner to the guards and staff, they never fail to bring warmth and comfort to every guest to ensure guests have a pleasant stay, I have stayed in other luxurious hotels before but EQ is different as I just feel that I want to return again!

To Mr Robert and all staff, thank you for arranging everything and we truly had a memorable stay!

I love it, just wished that my stay was longer since it was just a regular weekend for me. EQ's rebrand and refurbish really pays off well because everything, from the check in lobby, pool, gym and the room were all pristine and well decorated, modern with a hint of classic that remain to be the signature of the old Equatorial's DNA.

Every staff that interacted with me during my stay was amazing. Sebastian's team really pay close attention to my check-in and escorted me to my room and generously offered me complementary bar and all snacks within the room, and gave a brief introduction to the room. Overall room's layout is still the classic style, but all the furniture, fixtures and everything in the room were very new and modern (particularly love the bath tub). I thoroughly liked their selection of toiletries which were aromatic, although I find their bathrobe a little bit too classic (brown with a dash of black).

The pool was spectacular with KL tower view and half-olympic sized pool with arrangement of canopy pool-side bed, great to sunbath and relax. Again, the staff here was very friendly with everyone smiled and wished me. A manager even asked how was the pool to which I'd say it's serene, just perfect.

The breakfast in Nipah was decent too, though the selection wasn't as impressive as their lunch buffet, but I enjoyed my usual classic American breakfast and Nasi Lemak with my partner. I quite like how the place was set up too and all staff were adhering to the SOP.

At last while my checkout, the team were generous enough to accommodate my late checkout, although the complementary parking was limited, unlike most hotels. I had a chance to speak with Sebastian while browsing for their mooncake, who were extremely friendly and kind enough to do me a favour. I felt special with the staff from ground up here.

Overall my stay was a very pleasant experience and would definitely come again as a couple to a better room, a suite perhaps, for a longer stay for such gret hotel.

Hi, due to the size of the pool, does it tend to get/feel busy during the day?

Hi FatBarny23 Thank you for your question. I am trying to answer it as precisely as possible When we were there we never experienced any busy times at the pool. If I try to put the term „busy“ in numbers then the most busy time was when we saw approximately 3 persons in the pool and approximately 8 on the chairs, cabanas and deck chairs around the pool. Compared to the size and the room numbers of the hotel I would not describe this as a „busy“ pool. Hope that helps you to get an insight. Best wishes
