Had a business event for the last couple of days in EQ and the Team never fail to meet our expectation. Great dedication performed by Sales, Front Office, Banquet and Housekeeping team! A wonderful discovery. I have always selected the hotels in KL based on location which is near Pavilion, Starhill or KLCC as that’s where my meetings are held. I was asked to try EQ instead as my company has an ESG position and it turned out EQ is the only Green Building Gold 5 star hotel in town. I was booked into a Deluxe room with a view of Twin Towers (big plus) and the bed….was amazing. It’s so comfortable , air cond was quiet and there’s always a nice, subtle fragrance in the room. Breakfast was sumptuous and there is an amazing Japanese restaurant “Kampachi” there and the Etoile Bistro has great coffee and conducive for meetings too. The best part is this hotel is like 5-6 minutes walk to both KLCC and Pavilion if you go to B1 and walk from the road outside Etoile there. I never realised before. I will stay here again when I am back! 5 star experience and rooms are indeed better than other 5 stars in the city.

EQ’s roof-top bar with panoramic views of KL and the highlands and inventive, delicious drinks, are reasons enough to stay, but there is more: attentive discrete service, excellent restaurants (treat yourself to top-grade imported seafood at the iconic Kampachi), and thoughtful details throughout. My wife and I had a great getaway and we noticed that EQ is also a popular choice for families and business people. EQ deserves being recognized as the best city hotel in Malaysia by Travel & Leisure Asia 2022.

So to this point after traveling so much, I recently only post if I'm blown away or horrified. This time horrified. Booked the hotel's airport transfer at premium price as after 20h travel I wanted smooth sailing - had to wait after arrival for 15-20 min as he was not there waiting for me, no sign with my name at all, it's not even the hotel's car its a random transfer service. Got in the car parched, no water in the car like you normally get. Wondered what did I paid premium for?! No communication between teams, it's a joke, like it's a brand new hotel but it is not. Ask concierge, no, ask spa, no ask pool attendant... so on, and noone knows what's going on. No attempt to be helpful, ask for a drink at pool, no unless it is the room service menu its not available - don't even try to ask if it is possible, keep getting straight NO from everyone here. So not a luxury hotel, they don't cater to intolerance/allergies either. I asked for a simple request to accommodate my meal at the rooftop restaurant, but again a NO, I only asked if i could get the two appetisers instead of the desert as I am intolerant to the ingredients in the desert options. I could not get the menu at lower cost without desert, and could not get a substitute. Suggested I take the vegetarian menu which was much bigger and more expensive, which at least 3-4 courses included ingredients of my intolerance.I'm amazed not just at they're attitude, but as the restaurant is never fully booked, they give up revenue for a so called principle. Unfair to other guests, well, unfair to me who unfortunately can't enjoy the foods I used to love, and now you can't try to accompany me. Spa receptionist stated that I looked really tired, thank you, I need that compliment. Suggested I get some ice for the dark circles around my eyes, not that she brought me any. Spa therapist had a stuffed nose and kept sniffing, it was not only annoying, but she didn't wear a face mask, so now as I am leaving the hotel for the next of my 3 week holiday, I'm getting the flu. Treatments not great, feels like something your partner would give you, not someone who's educated in the field, rushed and not mindful like you'd expect. Wifi poor, everything you try to watch is blurred and pixels are horrible. Asked maybe 10 times for dairy milk substitute for the room, had to keep asking. And when I put do not disturb on and said I'm going to bed, they kept coming (with dairy milk first of all) and knocking on my door. Went to get a check out the evening before to avoid having to get up earlier than necessary, this was an issue. The cab I had ordered no-one knew about, had to wait till they spoke to concierge. The, concierge comes, and again I'm asked to wait. I said, I came down to make it easier for my departure, if I have to sit here and wait an hour tonight what's the point? After a lot of complaining/suggestions, yes, I do complain if it is too much, I'm used to hotel staff going above and beyond in luxury hotels/resorts, so I tried to overlook it in the beginning, but when it is on and on bad service I need to voice my opinion. I got a wine sent to my room an apology after asking for it - it was a sad 3/4 bottle of a white wine I told them today at the latest I can't stand. Check out was meant to go smoothly as I asked concierge to have a pre booked taxi for me so I didn't have to get up earlier than necessary, not to any surprise reception hadn't heard anything about this and I had to wait once more for a car to get there. I also tried to do pre check out the night before, as normally that is no issue anywhere, and I had nothing charged to the room, but no, that was not something they could do. The "go above and beyond" principle has definitely not been implemented here, and improve communication, don't say say and send me to your colleague just to get sent to another colleage and then in the end get a NO!

I truly understand how frustrating this can be. Please know that we take your feedback very seriously, and I want to address each of your concerns individually. Airport Pick-Up: We are genuinely sorry for the delay you experienced with our airport transfer service. Our records indicate that our assigned personnel at the airport were present promptly based on your estimated time of arrival, which was 1440hrs. However, we understand that you arrived at the arrival hall at approximately 1606hrs. Normal arrival time at this time of the day is between 30 to 45 minutes after the flight has landed. Despite the 1-and-a-half-hour delay, I am pleased to know that our airport representative has able to resolve your transfer alternative to EQ with an alternate car. Communication and Service Coordination: Your feedback about the lack of communication and coordination between our teams is well-noted. It is to be noted here that you have had numerous WhatsApp conversations with our Concierge team regarding transportation, meals and spa; all of which was accorded based on your requests. When you checked with the Front Desk regarding your transportation out, the guest services assistant promptly spoke to her concierge counterpart and the transportation was available for your departure as requested. At the poolside, we offer our guests the Room Service menu as we do not have an operating license for a F&B outlet at the poolside, which was offered immediately. Special Dietary Requirements: We sincerely apologize for not being able to fully accommodate your dietary requirements during your dining experience at our rooftop restaurant. Our Sabayon team frequently accede to special dietary requests which is outside the menu but due to a last minute request, the culinary team was not able to provide other alternatives but the vegetarian menu. Spa Experience: We regret that your spa experience did not meet your personal expectations. We reviewed your preferences and had indicated a medium pressure which was accorded. During your second treatment, we acknowledge that the therapist should have worn a mask but it is worth noting that you expressed satisfaction with the treatment provided to the Spa Manager. However, we will further review our spa procedures and ensure that therapists maintain the highest standards of service. WIFI – A high bandwidth WIFI services is provided throughout the hotel for all our guests. During the length of your stay, we had a number of corporate guests accessing the public WIFI services and experienced no issues with streaming, video conference calls or Netflix. We regularly conduct speed test of our WIFI services and noted that it had 200mbs download and 247mbs upload on the days of stay. Room Requests: We regret that you had to repeatedly request dairy milk substitutes for your room and experienced interruptions even after indicating "Do Not Disturb." We have reviewed the security footages on the floor with the floor supervisor report and at no time did anyone staff member call on your room with your “Do not disturb” being switched on. We apologize that the milk substitutes was not in your room upon arrival and have subsequently provided it. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we thank you for giving us the opportunity to address these issues. Hotel is amazing and so are the staff particularly Farrah, Aliff and Reuben. Nothing was a trouble to them. Loved Level 29 with infinity pool, spa,saunas and rainforest shower. Breakfast good with lots of choices and a great location for sighseeing. Would definitely recommend

Took the family for a Merdeka staycation at EQ. First time here and was not disappointed at all. Fantastic room, able to have 2 rooms side by side with a single privacy door that allows for families to cross into the other room without having to change! Fantastic views from the room and from the Sky 51 deck. Service was amazing and it shows that its a top-down humble service. Justin the Hotel Manager was outstanding. He was practically everywhere in the hotel and recognised us throughout the stay. The team, too many to name were all just as fantastic and accommodating. Have read some previous negative comments and all I can say is that they surely are wrong in my opinion. I have travelled extensively around the world and have stayed in luxury hotels like Bvlgari, Aman, Ritz-Carlton, Savoy, Fairmont/Raffles. EQ by a country mile beats these brands hands down. We will be back and will definitely recommend my business friends to stay.

Over the course of the previous years, I have stayed at several hotels in Kuala Lumpur and I can confidently say that the EQ has outshined all my past experiences in every aspect. The location, rooms, facilities, breakfast and service were all top-notch. Any request we had was answered swiftly and effectively by a friendly and competent team! Although everyone has contributed to making our stay memorable, I would like to give special thanks to Irwan Yusof at front office, Krishnan, the Indian cuisine chef from F&B, as well as the entire team running the coffee house. Comfortable, refined and tasteful... A truly luxurious experience!
