My family and I stayed in Hotel Naniwa for 6 nights in June 2016. Overall, we had an extremely comfortable stay. The service was excellent. The lady staff who attended to us when we checked-in on 14 June (morning) was extremely helpful and polite. She was able to converse in English too. Her service was immaculate. The family room was... The pictures of this place all show their cool traditional style rooms and claim that its right on the canal, but when we got here it was a block away from the canal with no view of it in sight and they had no traditional rooms available. Instead, they gave us a room that was typical of a cheap business... More

Stayed here in a 4 bed tatami mat room on the 6th floor with 2 adults and 2 children. Location is great. 15 minute walk from Namba Station. Very close to Dotomburi area. 10 minutes from food market. Room was very clean w small ensuite bathroom. Good shower pressure and shampoo/body wash/ toothbrushes provided. A complimentary bottle of water each... More

Close to Dotonbori but thats where it ends. Quality of mats for tatami the worst I have seen. Enquired at reception for another and told the cost would be an extra 3000 yen. 200 yen for extra pillows. The smell on the 6th floor is absolutely disgusting. Im starting to think sticking foreigners near the cleaners room is standard practice... More

Close to the main subways and very reasonably priced. We stayed six nights and traveled out to Nara and Himeji thus saving the effort of moving on. This hotel is perfect for being able to access the heart of the Namba district with old style arcades and markets. Plenty of variety in the near by streets and little alleyways. One... More

Let's be positive, the location is excellent and the staff were good. The room was clean and a reasonable size although the smoking area was right in front of the lift so getting to the room may be an issue for some. My issue was the rock hard mattress and single incredibly thin pillow that meant 2 very poor nights... More

The location is ideal but the furnishings, the lobby and the room are a little depressing. A least a fresh paint and new interior design should bring sunshine to this hotel It is not inexpensive either. The Provence/Florence artwork in the room and the Japanese innovation (is it, or it is just Naniwa?) on duvet cover with a cutout in... More

We stayed in the Hotel Naniwa for two nights. The location of the hotel is pretty good. It is very close to Dotonbori Street, but in a smaller street and hence quiet. It is also not too far from the railway station Namba and subway stations. The room is quite big for a Japanese hotel. Also the bathroom is big.... More

Let's start with the pros: a very good position and a good price. But the hotel really needs improvements. The hall is smelly, the rooms are old and dusty, not clean under the bed and dust is also on the walls and vents. The shower curtain is stained. We stayed here 3 days and it could have been worse but... More

This hotel was listed as a three star hotel. We stayed at this hotel two weeks ago for four nights and I do not recommend this hotel. It is NOT a three star property; in fact, it is barely a two star property. Our first room had beds which were like sleeping on beds of nails, with a Japanese bathroom.... More
