Stayed two nights here with family. Great location and paid 1500yen a day for parking right behind the hotel. They kept a spot only for your car once you requested the parking slot which was very convenient if you have car. Would stay there again for the location but the room especially the bathroom wasn't very clean and looked dated....

I would highly recommend this hotel. The value for this is exceptional. The location could not be better, right by the subway station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We shared a room with 3 people and it was still very spacious. It was nice have hot tea available in the room.

Bus and subway stops nearby, walking distance to Nishiki market, restaurants, river and shops. Good transport options for sightseeing out of the city too. Clean and tidy rooms and friendly helpful staff

Very well located hotel - about five minutes walk from a metro station. The rooms are nice - decent size (for Japan) but the bathroom is cramped and a little dated. There is no room to store luggage on check-out so it is kept out in the hallway which seemed strange.

A well situated three star hotel in Kyoto. We are a family of 3, there are 3 beds in the room and it is still spacious. The hotel has all the basic amenities, not fancy but clean and organized. Price is good too. We booked on booking.com. Location is great, you can walk to Gion area, not too close but...

I booked 2 twin rooms for a family of 5 (couple + 2 kids and a toddler). Check in was seamless and quick. ROOMS: Both our rooms were facing the main road, Oike Dori but it wasn't loud. The rooms were clean, 1 was bigger than the other which benefited us. The beds were comfortable enough and there were some...

Nice hotel. We had A 3 bed room which had good space for 3 people. Unfortunately one bed was a couch and very hard. They tried to put a pair of blankets on top, but still hard. Not so nice. Rooms were kept very clean. Very nice staff. Small (cruisestyle) bathroom, that we learned is typical for hotels in Japan....

No luxury, but medium class and conveniently located. Easy to walk to both Gion district with Geishas as well as some temples. Also close to subway. Free wifi. Double room w double bed was quite small, hard to move when having luggage on the floor. Our two kinds shared double room with separate beds, a little more expensive, but much...

Helpful staff. Great location. Older hotel but the friendly and effective staff made up for that. Near 7-11, restaurants, shopping and places of interest. Cozy bathroom but that will be true of many hotels (except for the very expensive. Clean, tidy room!

Thank Bob H

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
