If you get the chance to stay at any Ryokan I would strongly recommend it, but if you can manage to stay at the Seikoro Inn you will not regret it. When you first arrive you will be greeted by the staff as a long lost friend as they welcome you. You remove your shoes at the front door (every...

Staying at Seikoro was meant to be the highlight of our family visit to Japan, and it both was and it wasn't. To stay here is a bit of a lottery; depending on if your room is in the original building, with garden views, or in the 'new' wing, with none. We missed out, and being taken to our room...

The service here was truly outstanding. The attentiveness level is off the charts. They make the Four Seasons seem like a Motel 6. Every day, when we returned to our room, they would immediately bring tea and cookies, and the food is incredibly good. One evening we returned to our room and they had brought our bottle of sake on...

I stayed one night at Seikoro Inn. The inn itself is very cute and timeless. You can tell it has some wear and tear but not to be considered a bad thing. It is original and authentic. The rooms was fine. My only reservation was the staff was not very communicative - all other hotels I stayed at in Tokyo...

Stayed here for my 1st visit to Kyoto. Situated at a quiet lane, of which just 1 block apart from the subway station. We arrived in the early morning, staff are friendly and helpful. They helped us for keeping our luggage, and sending directly to our room before we back. The room is spacious and clean. A real Japanese style...

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights and almost cried when we had to leave. The staff was so friendly, hospitable, and generous. Their main goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Taki (I know i'm butchering his name) helped us make reservations, find vegetarian options, and gave us excellent recommendations for things...

I stayed at the Seikoro Inn, a ryokan, on my first visit to Japan and it was an amazing and unique experience. The staff takes care of you as if they were your favorite grandparents - making sure you are well fed, have had your tea, know where you are going and your room is perfect. Upon arrival they took...

What an amazing way to experience a more traditional (but clean and minimalistic) side of Japan. We stayed here for 2 nights - and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a different type of hotel. From the tea to the beds - it's something worth experiencing. We opted for a room with a shower and...

We spent a few days in this beautiful, traditional and family owned ryokan. The service and food were outstanding. The hotel is well located to reach Kyoto's hot spots by subway or by an extended walk.
