This is a Japanese style hotel contains large rooms. Three of us (2 adults and 1 child) stayed in a room with a double bed and futons. A traditional Japanese bento box was included in the price for breakfast. There was even the facility of public baths though the room also had it's own private bathroom. Everything was very clean....

Kyoto Village Hotel was like 15 minutes' walk to the Zion geisha district. The room was spacious and clean. Four of us could sleep comfortably, though it was still a tatami room with thick mattresses on the tatami. We could even launder our clothes in the Laundry Room. The overall decor was modern and fresh and the reception area had...

We stayed in a family room with our 3 kids. Very nice, all slept well "on the floor" and nice common bath at first floor. Easy to reach temples (by bus) and Nijo Castle. And, when moving on to Osaka we could use the next door train station to Omeda - no need to travel to Kyoto Station.

Enjoyed our stay here. The village Kyoto is a comfortable place to stay. There's a double bed and sofa. We can convert the sofa into a single bed to fit 3 pax. We also like the breakfast bento set, which is quite filling. There's a supermarket across the road, by the traffic junction. N you can also take the electric...

i love this Hotel, they have a big room to accomodate my family of 5. That was a japanese room, with tatami, and we slept on futons. which was a great experience, especially in this town. They also provided the pajamas, and tea making facility. The bento breakfast was nice and delicious, and came in handy. Stayed in end of December,...

We stayed as a family of four in December. Checkin was quick. As stated by previous posts, we had to make our beds. It's a breeze. The room was clean and quiet. A special mention to the breakfast of bento boxes delivered to the room at the time chosen by us. They were delicious and plentiful. We could not finish...

We arrived around 3 pm. We took a taxi from Kyoto Station and it cost us around 1200 Yen. Got the room immediately at level 8. No view from our room as it faces another building. However, it is quite spacious for a party of 4 (2A2C) We have to make our own futon bedding but the instructions are quite...

We spent 3 nights in Village Kyoto. First the location is fantastic - from Omiya station, a short walk less than 5 mins and you are there. 3 best things about Village Kyoto: 1. location it's located less than 5 mins from Omiya station (to go everywhere), Shijio Omiya (to go Arashiyama), bus stop (in front of Daiso to go...

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
