Arima onsen is a great onsen town to visit. It's compact enough (albeit a bit hilly) to walk around, and there are other sights around it (Mt Rokko) that are also within close proximity. Taketoritei Maruyama is slightly further out from the buzz of the main street that's right by the station, but the staff are happy to drop you...

We chose this hotel for our family trip. We all have a good time here. The hotel staffs are very responsive to all email I sent. The room are nice and I think it is very good for family with 68-70 years old adults and 2 years old babes, except they do not ask us about baby food so we...

We stayed here for 1 night as we also tried another ryokan in the previous night. We liked this one more for several reasons. This ryokan is situated further away from Arima town along the mountainous side. Although they offered pick up service, we decided to walk there, and it was a big mistake LoL. We stayed in the room...

Stayed here in late March for 2 nights for our first encounter with traditional Japanese Onsen. The staff were all very professional and fluent in English. Don't let its relatively remote location deterred you from staying here; the hotel encourage its guests to use the free shuttle service to/from downtown, train station, bus station and the Rokko Ropeway station; the...

Very nice hotel with large private onsen..! Ive been to gekkoen as well so I can compare these 2 places. Taketoritei has better private onsen size and the decoration but in terms of food i prefer gekkoen. Taketoritei has staff who can speak korean chinese as well so I believe it could help some of travellers. All staff were friendly...

This ryokan is a treasure, the staff is helpful and welcoming, the meals are truly amazing in taste and appearance and they have several private onsen options (for someone bashful like myself). This was my first onsen experience and it has been my favorite because of its stunning beauty and the choice of ginsen (silver spring) or kinsen (gold spring)....

Most of staff are youngster who fluent in English which make service a lot more better. The hotel located on the hill which make...
