Very nice rooms, but no heating..... in this cold, that’s no fun! Otherwise a very nice place! Food is also very good, lots of yummy options. Rooms are first class, beds are very cosy. Only thing lacking is room heating!!!
Centrally located, this Chinese hotel is slightly dated but very clean. Rooms are spacious, beds are average, service could be better. Breakfast area is nice and the selection is mostly Chinese. But they do have an egg station!! The biggest problem I see is the hotel entrance perched on 2nd floor landing. cars can only pull up to the curb-side on the ground level. if you have any luggage, you have take them up via stairs or escalator by yourself. I found it very inconvenient and laborious especially if you have any disabilities.
The second time I've stayed at this hotel, this time for a week. Sadly the room was much smaller this time around but served it's purpose. We did have WiFi in this room so our interpretation apps. worked fine. Very few staff spoke English and the breakfast was mainly Chinese oriented, which is to be expected I suppose, however, it did limit the choices to some degree. Overall, better than most but still average. For some reason the page is not accepting 'average' as a rating from me, so I have taken it down to poor rather than very good.
It was not an extraordinary stay but a comfortable one to spent a night in this Hotel. Staff is good and very supportive, but the only issue is that most of the staff doesn't understand or speak in English. Rooms are OK.
The location of the hotel is quite convenient for public transportation and you can find some shops and restaurants nearby. Hotel facilities are average. No WIFI in the hotel room except in the lobby area. Buffet breakfast provided are just some basic foods. I don't think this hotel is up to 4 star standard.
The hotel was big and close to many useful place; walmart, McDonald Airport Shuttle, etc. The room was clean. Breakfast buffet was on the 3rd floor. Most food were Chinese food. Pros: good location for airport shuttle and food, clean room, new TV, personal computer. Cons: no wifi, LAN only. Only 1 staff speak English, shower was weak. Far from tourist attractions. Overall, This hotel was decent if you need an airport shuttle or you need to be around the area.
Hotel is conveniently located near the ring road for transport to East Bus terminal ( bus 197) and the new airport. Several restaurants and shops around the hotel. Hotel facilties are not up to a 4 star rating, no WiFi except in a remote corner of the huge lobby. Rooms are large and clean and a non-smoking room has no smell ( exceptional in China). The beds are hard , the hardest we had in China. Breakfast is purely Chinese, but you can find some items to fill you stomach. Overall the hotel is good value for money and I would stay there again.
The hotel is situated in the first ring road, and it is quite convenient for taxi/bus/airport transport. Around it you will find plenty shops and restaurants. Hotel's facilities are average as you would expect from 4 star hotel. The breakfast buffet is poor. Food quality is bad for both Chinese and western food. Above aside, one thing it really lacks is its service. Staff members seem not interested in what you after in general, in stead they push sell additional service such limo services etc. The hotel is okay for a short stay in kunming and you speak Chinese. But don't expect more from it. Not worth the 4 stars IMO .
I've been here for 3 nights for a Conference. I didn't expect a lot, but a Telecom International Hotel with no wifi and no personnel speaking english is a bit a non-sense. It's a typical chinese 4s hotel, i.e. apparently everything is there fo being a 4s, but 2s is generous. I asked to change my room since also cable internet was not working. So, repack everything, new room with internet, working at stop and go, actually not working. I had to use my 3G telephone as a bridge. No wifi. Only a remote corner in the lobby has wifi. You have to go there and stay in that corner for having a decent signal. Restaurant very chinese, average. Personnel cannot speak english, very disorganized, you can spend aboput half an hour for checking in, same for checking out. There are better hotels in Kunming. Not recommended…
Not a good choice as a host hotel for an international conference. Lobby area doesn't have adequate space for informal gatherings. Room decor a bit on the old side. Non-smoking rooms are furnished with ashtrays and matches. Lack of English speaking hotel staff is not ordinarily an issue, but for an international conference, it made things more difficult. Room rate was cheap, though. You get what you pay for...
