this is a great hotel for westerners in china. they nearly have it all right! reasonable prices and pretty safe. not the best views but a good place to stay for running round visiting the sites in kunming or as a business stay.

Typical chinese style hotel. Rooms are decent and spacious. Air-conditing which is centrally controlled. Bathroom has a bathtub and hot water supply is good. There is no shower curtain and the whole area is wet after bathing. Decent price at 208 yuan for a business room without breakfast. You need to pay extra 20 bucks for Chinese style food consisting...

The new address is "Huan Cheng Bei Road (east)". The new owner and stuff isn't professional but mostly friendly. Breakfast is very simple but ok, breakfast time should ends at 10am but stuffs starts removing buffet at 9:30.... in total the new hotel is a typical chinese 2 stars hotel, only the prize is above average. Nothing special, also missing...

furnitures in the room are dated and so is the elevator (one of the 2). We stayed at Block B which was supposely the new wing ? but yet still appears dated in general. Reception area is bright but the gallery leading to the elevators are dim and errie (due to most shop lots are closed and locked but no...

If you expect to find a Camellia Hotel on dongfengdong road, please check the new and right address. This hotel at that place doesn't exist anymore because of the subway construction. I give 5 stars only for this precious information :)

As others have said the hotel is dated, in need of a refurb. For the price is reasonable and in a decent area where you can wander around and get your fix of Crossing Bridge Noodles in a number of nearby restaurants back on the main road. Don't expect too much here, good for a quick stop off between trips...

We stayed just one night after returning from Yuanyang and before heading home, but this hotel, although somewhat old and worn, was quite good for the price. The room was quiet and spacious and had obviously once been quite good, although when we stayed the bathroom was rather worse for wear. It had been reserved through an agent for us....

This review refers to the NEW Camellia Hotel. The old one has been demolished and the owners have taken over another older hotel. If you do stay here, make sure you have the new address written down in Chinese characters, otherwise you might end up at the demolition site of the old hotel. It appears that the owners are in...

The hotel was very dated. The rooms were spacious but the bathroom was average size. The bed was super hard and there's no AC in the room since the weather in Kunming is never too hot. However, I did find it difficult to sleep as there were mosquitoes around. It did not have much amenities in there but I didn't...

We stayed at the hotel as part of an organized tour. The rooms are similar to something you would expect in the '60s . We tried two different electrical adapters and both times they shorted out and sparked when we plugged them in. No A/C, with the windows opened, the traffice noise is quite loud. The common areas of the...
