Four star hotel Volna is hidden among old soviet style multi storey houses. They got all you need in a business trip. Rooms are a bit small, bathrooms need renovation, but in general - price to performance ratio is ok. For a short stay for sure worth to be considered. The staff is very helpfull, having also sufficient communication skills in english.
Awesome hotel: great beds, choice of pillows (yes, they have a pillow menu), outstanding food. They have a private car park and the level of safety is very high. The hotel is quite far from the city centre, but the value you get is tremendously high. Recommended to all city visitors!
This hotel is situated in the suburbs of Nizhny and is very close to GAZ plant. The airport is about 15 min only from this hotel. There are good malls nearby. The staff speak reasonably good English.the restaurants serve good food. The room is basic with very few amenities but comfortable. On top of it it is really reasonably priced
Not necessarily hotel's fault, but was a bit of a time warp here. Rated 4 star but more of a high 2 / low 3 in reality. Check-in was okay, but a bit slow and surprised to pay in full up front for room rather than them just swipe the card, especially as corporate booking. Not had a single bed in a hotel for years, but maybe common in Russia? Carpet and fixtures in room a tad basic, and room in need of some TLC. All seemed a bit worn and aged. Breakfast was pretty basic, and not great selection. Bar in evening was empty, no atmosphere and service was not that fast. But maybe this is usual here? I'm used to Western hotels, U.S. & Asia where service standards are different... Did the job and if I was back here would probably see if other options, as not great and seems to cater for workers at local factories, so fairly basic…
The Hotel is quite good. Rooms are comfortable with flat screen TV and so on. Sofa in the bedrooms are a bit old but well, it is ok. Girls on the main desk are nice but the people from the bar are not very friendly... The breakfast is a shame... It could easily be improved with no (or low) additional cost! I would rate the hotel 4/5 with a better breakfast instead of 3/5!
