We loved the view of St Isaac Cathedral from our room window - particularly lovely at night. The room was well lit and comfortable and provided for all our needs. We enjoyed our breakfast choices and we had a delicious pizza lunch in the hotel restaurant. This was one of the better hotels on our Globus Scandinavia/Russia tour.

This hotel has oldwordly charm. Very well located. Just a short walk from the main artery that has all the major shopping, and shopping centres in the area. We were welcomed in typical Russian fashion with Russian hats, music, and bread with salt. This hotel has well appointed rooms, good food, and champagne with breakfast. What can a girl want... More

The Angleterre Hotel is a nice, historical property, with a contemporary interior located right in the heart of the historical centre of the city and close to all the sights (directly opposite St. Isaac's Cathedral), shops and restaurants. The reception staff are polite and speak very good English as do the waiting staff and all of them are keen to... More

The hotel is very well located in the heart of St Petersburg, within easy walking distance of most central attractions, including the Hermitage and the bottom end of Nevsky Prospect, and a short distance from the Metro at Admiralteskaya. The rooms are small and minimally furnished in art nouveau style, which may not be to everyone's taste. Those looking for... More

We spent a most enjoyable four days in this beautiful city in an equally beautiful hotel..The Angleterre. First impressions are lasting impressions, and from the first contact with staff at checkin until our departure, we were made to feel welcome. We found a cosy spot downstairs to gather with friends regularly for a coffee or a stronger drink and we're... More

Walk to Hermitage, Church of Spilled Blood, and many others. Across the street from St. Isaac's Cathedral. Many restaurants within a few blocks as well as main shopping district. Hotel is clean, standard size European rooms. No coffee maker in room and none available in lobby. There is an Italian restaurant and cafe located in the lobby. You can't beat... More

Stayed here on post Viking river cruise extension. This is a hotel with great access to The Hermitage, St Isaac Cathedral, Church of Spilled Blood and other sites that visitors want to see. All are within walking distance. Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet with free wifi but no coffee maker in the room. For a place to wind down... More

I really liked this hotel. I had a room on the second floor with one of the two balconies in the hotel. This gave me a wonderful view of the surrounds and St Isaac's and was handy to check the temperature each morning. It also let a good amount of air into the room as the rooms tended to be... More
