It was lucky that I had used a taxi to get there. There was no evidence of the Seasons Hostel to be found when I arrived. The driver got out and asked around. Eventually we found an anonymous brown door with a doorbell, and a one-inch square piece of paper reading “Seasons”. We pushed the doorbell and a buzzer sounded,...

It is a short walk over the river to the Red Square and very close to the metro station. The staff was helpful. The place was quite crowded - there was a group of school kids staying and therefore quite noicy, but overall OK. Bathrooms are shared but in good clean condition. There is also a big kitchen where cooking...

Waited 2hrs for owner to come register me on my arrival at 12noon. The cleaning lady was nice, passed me a towel to shower. Booked a 6 bed dorm and was given a 10-12 bed dorm, although discount was given, I still prefer 6 bed dorm. The squeaky door for the 10-12 bed dorm was a nuisance in the morning...

Stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The location to red square was great, 5 minute walk, can see The Baz Cathedral from the hostel door. The kitchen was great nd you could cook if you wanted to. Showers are gret, very powerful. The Taff were very friendly and helpful, even invited us to their party. I had a...

I was not impressed. It's ok. But definitely better hostels out there. There are worse though too... it's very small and cramped. There is very little atmosphere and quite boring. Yes, the walls are “fun” and “colourful” but that’s not how atmosphere is created. Atmosphere is created through interaction with guests and staff. But I guess that’s hard to do...

one good point - the location. it's great! a bunch of other horrible points: toilets are cramped, beds are creaky and tiny. showers are new, but the rooms are really small, and its just hard to get around. also, not all of the staff speaks very good english.

This is a new hostel, open just this year, so I did not expect much, but they surprised me a lot. First of all, the price is very attractive (only 550 roubles per night in 10 people dorm). For this price you get a clean and comfortable bed with a personal lamp and curtains (!). So, I felt absolutely isolated...

Staying in Zamoskvorechye

Neighbourhood Profile
Zamoskvorechye
It wouldn’t be a mistake to call Pyatnitskaya street the main axis of this neighborhood – turn one direction and you’ll find the Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane, turn another – a hip Scandinavian restaurant. Old churches now embrace contemporary life with style and grace. Going to Zamoskvorechye is like visiting during the times when it was a medieval Russian quarter, but with a modern twist of 20th century buildings pushing themselves into the 21st century with new businesses opening weekly. Stroll down Pyatnitskaya to taste dozens of global cuisines – from Ukrainian and Georgian to Thai and American.
