On the location of the previous hotel, A la Russe, the Mary Gold Hotel has potential. It's an easy walk to the Alexander Gardens and the Red Square and is close to a fun set of places to eat and drink. My room lacked AC and a fan, and the bed was not comfortable...the springs dug into my ribs. It...

Pictures were a bit misleading, this is a more of a hostel than a hotel. But it was cheap. We booked 2 rooms. 1 room had 6 beds and the other 4! Hotel was clean and basic and you could use the kitchen which was useful and there was a supermarket just around the corner. You can buy breakfast in...

If you care, at all, about your time and money avoid this hotel, at all costs!!! The images, that the hotel, posted on their web site do NOT reflect the reality. After a 12 hour journey towards Moscow and after finding this hotel, were we had booked a room with a private bathroom (using booking.com), we were told that our...

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Its name has changed to "Mary Gold Hotel". Both A la russe and mary gold is the same place. Staff was very rude and can not speak english. Kitchen is very dirty. I paid 12 percent of the payment for reservation but they forced me to pay this amount again. They also...

Deceptive hotel. As others have mentioned, the photos displayed are not at all the rooms given - they are 100% different and very old. The receptionist also lied and tricked us into buying some "registration vouchers for visas" which we later found out is not necessary if you are staying less that 7 days (when they said you even need...

Do not stay here. Most of the staff is not helpful, toilets are dirty, facilities are bad, and they rip you off with the visa support,... One positive thing, not bad located. But still, No reason at all to stay here.

Me and 4 other friends "stayed here" (we lasted until 5am) last year. It is honestly the worst place I've ever set foot in in my entire life. Lockers with no locks, broken windows that led out onto a Moscow street in the middle of winter that anybody could have climbed in, disgusting toilets, unhelpful staff, soiled mattresses, people searching...

I've been there just for few hours because I asked my company to move me to another hotel, since I really didn't feel I could stay there. I was feeling dirty and insecure. There was bad smell everywhere, a lot of gypsies and dirty people who look sick. Condoms under the bed, dirty sheets and pillows, unpleasant service. They didn't...

Very disappointed about this hostel ! It was very dirty in the common areas. It smelled bad, the sinks were always dirty, I don't even talk about the toilets... Vomit, still excrements in the toilet bowl, urine around, toilet paper on the ground (but no paper that you can use). I was even afraid to have a shower, I kept...

Impolied stuff, dirty and smelly rooms, toilets and showers. The Wifi worked quiet bad. Over all, very unpleasant stay. The location has been overall good, as it is close to some metro station, while being located in a quiet street.

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighbourhood Profile
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
