Perfect stay in the Alexandra suite. Clean, comfortable and bigger than expected. Very nice and competent staff. Great location near bars and restaurants (5-10 mins walk). We wish we could have stayed longer

We stayed here in January. It is not in the nicest of streets and has no views. The Reception Area, well I guess they are renovating as they had several green electrical wires hanging out of the temporary ceiling. The ladies at Reception were pleasant enough. We had a room upstairs, am not sure what it's name was but they thought we should be super impressed as it was large, As in a big room with a very uncomfortable sofa bed to sit on. The Bathroom was large but the idea of an open shower is great if it drains away which this did not. Luckily they supplied 4 towels as we had to use 2 to stop us slipping all over the place and it would have been nicer to have the toilet seperate. Bedroom was ok, linen well worn, minibar with whopping prices. When we came out of the room and down the stairs the people in the room were sitting on the bench outside their room and had to move everytime we went up and down. The Pool area is pleasant but the Jacuzzi was occupied by the same people for 2 hours and I am not sure they were even guests at the hotel. Think the best bit was the taxi driver they got for us.

We had booked this hotel half a year in advance and stayed 4 nights. The lady at the reception was unfriendly during the whole stay. We got the room next to the reception (it was like a basement). The room had no windows only the view through the sliding door directly to the iron entrance gate. Behind the entrance gate was the street with much noise. We asked for another room but it was not possible to change although other guests stayed only one night in the hotel. The breakfast was ok and the small pool with the garden was nice. But nevertheless we cannot recommend this hotel. We think it is bad value for money, at least if you get this room.

Response from VillaMorgane, Directeur général at Villa Morgane
Responded 5 Jan 2014

We recently arrived from Australia and stayed two nights. On one of these night the house next door burnt down in a major emergency and we had to evacuate from our beds whilst the fire trucks came in..I'm very happy the Villa Morgane still stands! We stayed in the Pompeii Suite which is unique and interesting. There is a nice pool area to relax in and an elevated bar area where the manager was more than happy to top up our drinks of the evening. The beach and look outs are only a minute walk away down the road. The owners here have gone all out to make it a relaxing stress free environment. The breakfast is a continental style breakfast which isn't to my taste - but I am fussy.... No eggs, bacon or sausages and I'm out of there as I need hot food, though I can get by on coffee as required. But overall - i would love to stay here again as the staff, location and property is fantastic.

The hotel Villa Morgane is a family house in Saint-Pierre, a very convenient departing point to reach the most attractive places in Reunion, like the volcano, Entre-Deux and Le Dimitile, as well as the eastern coast and the road surrounding the volcano, really impressive with the different lavas flowing into the sea. The room we stayed in was the room Venice, the smallest of all. The size of the room is quite ok, I believe even a bit more than the 12 square metres announced in the hotel´s site. Not much room to move when you are carrying heavy luggage, but wit space enough for two. It is located on the ground level, leading to the side garden. A really quiet room, you will be able to sleep well without noises. The walls are painted in fresco style, nothing unpleasant, rather the contrary. Amenities are provided by the house with shampoo and gel being refilled every day instead of providing you with one different bottle every day. As long as the bottles are big enough for two, nothing against being ecological. The bed is confortable, there is a cupboard to hang your clothes, a suitcase holder, two night-tables (beside tables), a big chest of drawers and a minibar, as well as some chips. Prices for the food and drinks? As usual in any hotel, higher than the average, but this is not a point to decrease the value of the stay at any rate! The bathroom is modern and very good furbished, many towels and bathrobe provided, considering that you may want to enjoy the nice pool in the upper garden. Really a value when you arrive from a long day hiking, a nice swim in the pool (deeper than the lagoons, by the way). The bedlinen is pretty ok, only the cover could be more attractive, but that is a matter of each one's taste, not really an objective criteria. Breakfast is very tasty, including fresh fruit, the chance to make your own orange juice by using the citrus presser provided; some salami, ham and a good cheese assortment. Different kinds of bread, a sweet thing (one day we found homemade crepes, another one, croissants) and really tasty fruit marmelades complete the offer. Better than many hotel buffets, and with a more familiar touch. More than enough to resist until the afternoon without feeling hungry. Coffee and teas are of course available. The service was excellent. Both Chantal and her husband are really friendly and concerned about your needs. We even asked her for a restaurant suggestion in Saint Pierre and we ended up in a cool place to eat creole for a very reasonable price as well! All in all, a reccomendable place to stay in La Reunion! Only the surroundings do not fit with the house/hotel, somehow I would not like to wander around in the night in some areas around the hotel, and it is highly recommendable to take the car if you want to go to Saint Pierre after sunset. The price is high in comparison to a similar hotel in many European countries, but better than the average in La Reunion, where lodging is more expensive than here. We stayed afterwards in a different hotel in Saint-Gilles Le Bain, more expensive and honestly, not worth its price at all. For the same daily fee you could have had a suite in Villa Morgane, much better! In this point, La Reunion is far too expensive and comparing it in its local context, Villa Morgane has reasonable prices for the service provided.

Coming from Australia for IOMMA Music Market and SAKIFO Festival in Saint Pierre, we found ourselves amidst the intimate surrounds of a beautiful sanctuary. One can feel the love.... emanating from the dining room (and a delicious breakfast selection) to the fresco's in each of the villa's, all with their own beautiful decor. For 12 days we (3 people) enjoyed every sumptuous moment. The hospitality of Corine, her husband and the friendly staff, all made for an unforgettable experience. Viva la Villa Morgane & Reunion Island, where the GDP can be measured in happiness. Merci and toot a loot....Di, Celia and Sharon. :)
