Staff was nice, room is clean, receptionist so helpful that recommend us for tours and transportation. We had a great stay here. However, the thing i don't like is wifi, i don't know how is others but the signal in my room is really bad, it works like "the waves" even i told them but seem it couldn't fix.
The staff were very nice and the price was good, but otherwise there were few positive features. As others have said, the hot water is unreliable...basically they dont have a tank big enough for their hotel. If you want a hot shower, you must get up very early or do it early in the evening. Otherwise, you'll be lucky to get a a semblance of warmth in an otherwise cold building (the staff wore coats permanently). The breakfast was also a fairly mediocre buffet. On our first day, we went down just before 8 and found very little left to eat. Other reviews mention eggs...the only hot food on offer during our stay was the toast. As for our room, this was more like a cave. The only window we had, opened onto the central atrium inside the hotel, overlooking the breakfast area. Not only did this mean being woken up by other guests eating their breakfast at 6.30 am, our room was permanently dark. Overall, I'd say our experience was poor, but for the price, i guess we should've expected what we got. I wouldn't recommend staying here and quite frankly im confused by the number of positive reviews.…
Utasa Inn it's located a few blocks from Calle Lima, where you can find restaurants, money exchange, drugstores and many souvenirs. Very convenient. It's a safe region to walk by, even by night. We didn't need to use taxi. The room it's simple, but comfortable and has a good hot shower. It's also very quiet, so you can have a good night sleep. The breakfast is not good and we've felt a little humidity smell on the bathroom on the second day. But, for a one or two nights stand is not a big problem. It's a good value for money for a short stay to explore Titicaca lake.
Clean, nice rooms, friendly helpful staff and decent breakfast. Close to the main tourist street in Puno. We were given a map and advice on where to eat when we arrived. Very good value for the money paid!
Stayed in a triple room. Room was great value. Hot water not reliable. Breakfast was good. Accommodated our late check out for a small fee. Location was great. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and attractions.
For the price I was expecting accommodations that were much less nice; the room was very clean and generally more upscale feeling than expected a Great experience here overall. Good breakfast. Good location as well.
I actually want to give this hotel 5 stars because the staff were always really helpful but I would agree with other reviews that the hot water isn't always reliable. However, it's a lovely hotel for the price you pay and I definitely have to say it's good value. We took a bus from Cusco and arrived at 5am, and the guy at reception let us check in to our room which I think was very cool and they were also really helpful in arranging a cheap, combi taxi for us (at very short notice) when we had to go to the airport. Breakfast was great and again, staff were really kind in making more eggs or whatever you asked for. If you want all the frills, you need to pay at least $50 in Puno, but for approx. $30, Utasa Inn is great value with 5 star staff and I would definitely recommend!
Well located. nice and helpful staff. Rooms don't have proper windows to the street and they face the interior courtyard of the hotel so the ventilation is not perfect. Hot water is not 100% reliable and sometimes it cuts off but in general it's ok. If you go there in winter, make sure you have a radiator in the room. They can provide you one from reception.
Hotel facilities were new, it was very clean, with good materaces and breakfast. Helpful staff, option to book well priced tours through hotel (we shopped around and came back to book via hotel). Literally 3min walk from main square. Great value for money, would stay there again without a doubt.
I stayed here briefly while traveling in Puno on business. The hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was good, and the service was exceptional. For instance, housekeeping took care of all laundry during my stay free of charge! Also, the water was always hot which is always a treat in Peru. Utasa is only a few minutes walk from the central Plaza de Armas and a longer walk from Lake Titicaca. If you want a quiet, relaxing stay in Puno then choose Utasa!
