We stayed at the Plaza Mayor hotel for three nights. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped us book a tour to Sillustani, which was a great addition to our itinerary, and they can also book tours to Taquille and Uros islands, which are not to be missed. The hotel is located right in the center of town, so it's an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. The rooms are nothing special, but totally adequate. I would avoid their over-priced laundry service; you're better off doing laundry in Cusco.
We booked through Airbnb and had a great experience. Beds we're super comfy, rooms clean with everything you need. Breakfast included. Just 1/2 block from the main plaza and shopping street. Very convenient. Friendly staff.
Good firm bed, free WiFi, bath and shower with toiletries provided and a decent breakfast all make this a pretty good choice just a few metres from the plaza de arms and the main pedestrian street VB on Puno.
It was less than 5 minutes walk to the Plaza and excellent restaurants including Mojsa and Balcones de Puno. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The rooms had heaters and hot showers with lots of space. The breakfast was included and had a good variety. The price was excellent!
It is a great hotel. Location is perfect, rooms are big and clean, beds are king size, breakfast is great. Staff is great! We had some problems with hot water but they fixed it. Would definitely recommend!
The staff at the hotel was amazing!!! We were a team of 16-20 that had heavy bags we carried in and out with us each day. As soon as the staff saw our vans pull up they had the door open, which would have been enough to thank them for, but then they jumped in and helped us drag the bags in or out, EVERYDAY!
Excellent service. Excellent breakfasts. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate all the needs of our group. If we return to Puno, we will be staying here again. The only room for improvement would be consistently hot showers. Otherwise, perfecto.
This hotel is in a great location near a pedestrian mall with shops and restaurants. The room was very nice with a king sized bed, modern decor, an oil filled heater. The bathroom was also nice. The only downside was that the breakfast was quite expensive.
We arrived in Puno and discovered that the first night of our planned stay in nearby Llachon was unavailable. We therefore had to find a hotel in Puno for that one night. I felt like Joseph and Mary, being told at every place we walked into that there were no rooms available. Eventually, we found a couple of rooms (us and the kids) at this place. It was expensive, but we had no choice and Puno is an expensive town. Checked-in and paid. Discovered then that the elevators were not working, so with a fair amount of luggage, we gasped up to our rooms. Internet only works on the lobby, which is unacceptible in this day and age for what is supposed to be a high-end hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. All in all, it was just okay, but you can do a lot better in this town ... if you have a luxury of being able to research and book in advance.…
We stayed here as part of the Tucan Tour. Our stay in the hotel was actually a day either side of a home stay we did on Amantani Island on Lake Titicaca. When we arrived in Puno the weather was grim to say the least. The hotel is very near the main square and a short walk from shops, restaurants and bars. Cannot comment on the staff as I did not need to interact with them, but they seemed pleasant enough. We had a room at the back of the property, down a long corridor. It seemed newly decorated and clean. Our room was cosy and rather small, but it did the job. The bathroom was nice, hot water and shower all worked fine. The only downside to the room was that the windows did not have seals on them, so any noise from the street was actually quiet loud. There is a lift, which was slow and small - not great for a tour, where most people have large back packs. But! better than no lift at all. Only had wifi in the reception. I could not pick it up in out room.…
