We had a Spacious room with a good view. The room had a fireplace that came in handy because the space heater in the room was useless. The waitstaff at the restaurant were pleasant but the food was uninspiring. The tour agency representing the hotel arranged a great trip to the islands for us. Unfortunately, our room had a strong...

The hotel rooms are clean, spacious, nicely furnished and have beautiful views. The dining room and halls have great views also, but the pool is not very inviting. (We didn't use it or see other guests using it). The elevator wasn't working and we were staying on the 4th floor. Nobody offered to help us with our backpacks and we...

That's about all of the Spanish that I know. The Taypikala is a wonderful hotel, and they are located in a good area for sightseeing, walking. The staff helped my wife and me with directions and answered our questions intelligently. The wifi is excellent. Also, they have oxygen because of the altitude in Puno. Our room was very clean and...

A lovely hotel with stunning views of the lake. The rooms were some of the best we have experienced in our travels and the staff friendly and helpful. Its a fair way out of Puno (45mins) so going there for activities meant arriving late and leaving early with little time to really enjoy the place. We ate there on our...

I've been traveling solo in South America for about three months and got very sick in Puno. Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights trying to make the most of the time and recoup for the rest of the long trip. The first thing I was told was that the elevator was broken and it remained so for the full...

The Taypikala Hotel Lago was the nicest hotel I stayed in while traveling in Peru. The room was spacious, the bathroom was roomy, the beds were comfortable and the view was to die for. The breakfast buffet was the most varied and had wonderful additions such as bread and a toaster. The triangular dinner rolls were a huge hit with...

A fine 3 star hotel with large rooms including two large colonial chairs and space heater. The view from almost all rooms is spatacular! The hotel restaurant is 4 star. The chef gets dinner perfect with nice presentations. Other: 1. Hallway noise goes right thru the door. 2. Staff is very quick in handling minor problems. 3. An elevator is...

We were on a 3-week tour of Peru and Bolivia and stayed in three hotels in the Taypikala chain. They were all, BY FAR, the best hotels of our trip. Each one was 4-5 stars by American standards. Our favorite of the three was Taypikala Lago. You can walk down to the shore of Lake Titicaca. Also, the gift shop...

I traveled with a group, and this hotel took our breath away. This was only in part due to our progressing altitude reactions, meaning we became short of breath just climbing the stairs from the dining area to our rooms. The breathlessness was mostly due to the beautiful location, with amazing views of Lake Titicaca, plus beautiful landscaping and flowers...
