This hostel is located in the center of Chitre and the cheapest place in town. It is rustic and very comfortable, with a kitchen facility. Mike, the owner gave me very useful travel advice. I liked hanging out on the roof terrace and watching the stars.

Mike's place has all you need for a decent stay, rooms are ok with their own little fans, but powerful ones, cold beer for $1, free WIFI, nice rooftop with cool breeze at nights to recover from the hot days. Well located and Mike can advise you with vital information.

Stayed here three nights for the Corpus Christi festival in nearby Los Santos. Everything you'd need is close by. Once I got my bearings straight, using the public buses between the hostel and Los Santos was easy and cheap. Chitre's downtown shopping district was an easy walk. Mike's knowledge of Panama is vast, especially Herrera and Los Santos provinces, and...

Miami Mike's has all a backpacker needs: A bed, a bathroom and a kitchen! It's colorfully decorated, centrally located and simply straight forward. It is what it is. Laundry nearby, church, shopping and a casino across the street. Sure, it's hot and noisy but it is Latin America. I enjoyed my time in Chitre and used it as a central...

We stopped in Chitre on the way up to Boquete to enjoy a quiet birthday celebration. Chitre may be a small town but it had all the amenities our family needed. With cappuccino on tap from the pharmacy below, cheap shopping opportunites (I have never seen so many secondhand stores in one town) and a little museum to explore, we...

I just stayed at the hostel because I had problems with my feed. The rooms and kitchen are disgusting and I got bed bugs in the bed. I should have better slept on the floor with my towel. I just felt dirty. It was also very loud and I wasn't able to sleep there properly. Don't visit that place!!!

The two hosts Mike&Mike are really friendly and relaxed. They guide you well through the town depending on what you want to do. Good pricing, no AC but fans, really clean with a kitchen you may use. Rooftop where you can hangout. Wifi. You can buy beer for 1 USD. I stayed there one night but I would definetely go...

I stayed here for one night during Carnavales with my girlfriend and it was perfect. Don't expect a fancy spot, but the location is unbeatable... less than a block from all the action. The real gem of this place is Mike himself. A friendly guy, he made me feel welcome from the moment I showed up and was constantly laughing...

Chitre is a nice small town with a very beautiful church in the center. There are also beaches close by, one 15 minutes and the other 40 minutes away. The hostel is very laid back and cozy. I recommend visiting Chitre for a few days.

Mike is very hospitable. He is full of information about the area and it is easy to tell he loves his home. The hostel is conveniently located in the center of the city and the rooms are a good value. Really enjoyed our stay.
