We stayed two nights at this hotel which was a train station during colonial times. The building is interesting and the atmosphere is formal. I would not say it was charming; but it has character. Our room was large enough, clean enough and the bath facilities good enough. The wifi worked fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The...

A two night stopover from travelling was a rest indeed. The hotel is a converted railway station and has improved on the charm that its' earlier existence might have had. Good food and clean well appointed rooms are all that one could ask for. A rather pushy porter tended to dull the initial pleasure a little.

In the middle of our tour of Namibia we spent 2 nights at the Swakopmund Hotel. My room was large, clean and very comfortable. The hotel which was originally a railway station had a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was sumptuous. Service was great and I would happily have stayed longer! The location was good too, walking distance to the town centre.

The hotel itself is nicely designed with a big, beautiful inner courtyard. However, it has seen quite some years pass by and some of the facilities are not well maintained. The toilette in our room was broken for instance. We told the hotel staff but they did not seem to care much. The room was alright, maybe a little less...

I think that, years ago this used to be The Railway Hotel and is built in proud German Colonial Style around a generous courtyard. Front desk staff not particularly clued up. Our luggage took over an hour to get from reception to our room. Actually I carried one of the cases up to our first floor room. Pleasant, but nothing...

Was here for two nights attending part of conference. Hotel showed age but rooms were adequate and comfortable considering. Very few guests in hotel so staff was lean. Difficult to find entrance to meal area and routed around building to side rather than from courtyard. Food okay Good location and walking to local shops and beach is close. Am not...

This is quite an expensive hotel and whilst the family rooms are small, apart from that, our stay was excellent. The staff are very very friendly (as I found across Namibia). They accommodated our requests from cleaning cars, to finding beaches to braai on, to moving tables so we could sit outside our room etc. Breakfast was excellent with plenty...

The hotel has colonial influence, could have been a nice hotel. We had poor experience with the staff, especially impolite at the front desk and the staff who carried out luggage would just stand there to make sure they got tip before they were "willing" to leave the room. The overall cleanness was questionable, especially with older furniture. We had...

Stayed here for 4wks on business and overall it was ok - managed to negotiate a much lower rate for my duration (as if not, I would be very unhappy with the cost/experience). Staff are friendly, but not overly helpful/useful - if you submit laundry and put 'on hangers' don't be surprised if your clothes are all returned folded in...
