I stayed in the Riad for seven days together with my friends and it was great. Each floor has nice common areas where you can sit and have dinner or socialize. As said it is authentic - especially the Mosaic floors (see picture). It is nicely renovated, but it is clearly a historic building.

We had the top apartment for three nights and we loved it. There were only two of us but there is space for four and there is a good kitchen and a lovely terrace with lounge chairs and a small table. The top apartment does not have access to the swimming pool (which was empty when we were there in...

We just spent a week there with my family which consists of two daughters (9 and 6) and husband. We stayed on the ground floor apartment. The Riad has been lovingly restored with lots of beautiful features. The location is excellent right in the medina. The rooms are well furnished and the kitchen has everything you need. The beds were...

We had a fabulous stay in this riad. We were on the ground floor as one of our party has mobility issues, which was spacious for the two of us. It took a bit of getting used to being overlooked, but the other guests staying above us were lovely. The riad is also in a great location for wandering around...

Just returned from a four night stay at Riad des Palmiers. It's a lovely place to stay, and very good value. My mum and I stayed in the first floor apartment - 2 ensuite double bedrooms, kitchen and sitting room, with access to the garden and roof terrace. The bedrooms are more spacious than they look on the website, and...

The Riad location is fantasic, easy walk from the bus stop, in a quiet part of the medina with a fantasic view! The riad had everything you need - kitchen was thoughtfully equiped so i enjoyed going to the market each day and...

We've just spent a week in this riad and had a wonderful time. We traveled with our 3 kids aged 5, 8 and 10. We chose this riad because it is the only one we could find with a little pool. The kids loved it! Moreover, it is in the Medina, close to the Place Moulay Hassan, the souk, restaurants...

I came here with three friends and had a great time. The riad is large, beautiful and was very peaceful. I loved my room! It was really close to the centre so we had no trouble getting around. The owner was very helpful and provided lots of recommendations, and all the little details were taken care of for us -...

I've stayed in this Riad twice in the last couple of years - we came back because we liked it so much! Firstly, Essaouria is a beautiful town and much more chilled than Marrakesh, and the Riad feels exceptionally safe. I felt comfortable walking back to it at 2am and found all the local residents to be exceptionally friendly and...

Stayed in March with two kids, as probably every Moroccan house they are not made for cold weather. This place probably would be great in warmer weather, back yard and pool are great. Privacy an issue if only renting one floor, both with noise and insight from other floors. Location is great, except for the 5 am prayer call, for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Riad des Palmiers (so-called because there are 3 ancient palm trees in the garden) is situated in the medina, overlooking the beach. The house can be rented in its entirety, or by the apartment (of which there are 3 laid out over 3 floors). There is a large roof terrace on the top floor, and a beautiful garden with a 10 sq. metre plunge pool, very rare for Essaouira and the only one in the Medina. ... more   less
