You surely don't arrive to a hotel with these kind of reviews with low expectations, but what we were allowed to experience at L'Iglesia was more than we could wish for. The crew running the place could have not been more friendly, helpful and pleasurable to be around with. The two properties are furbished and decorated with so much taste,...

Our family spent 2 nights at L'Iglesia. The hotel is a beautiful and high quality conversion of an old Portuguese convent and chapel. The rooms were large and well appointed and the bathrooms had plenty of hot water. There is central heating although you may need to ask the staff to turn it on. The restaurant is in the different...

Went for lunch, but the bar and restaurant were empty. Seemed slow, so we walked up the street. The hotel looked really nice, though we didn't stay there. If I ever stopped to stay in that city again, I'd stay there.

We actually find this resto by accident....almost..we were wondering if during ramadan there would be anything open for us to eat in the “portuguese fort” in El Jadida. And there it was, fresh, open and surprisedly good. For vegetarians it is always an adventure to find good food in Morocco, well cooked and well presented! We were nicely surprised but...

large room with all comforts but a bit spooky since, at the time, we were (or appeared to be) the only guests. The rooms were located in a separate building from the reception and it felt a little strange being alone in such a large building and eating on our own. service is good and the staff are friendly. the...

I love this hotel because it is small and historical and right next to the ramparts in the old Portugese city of el Jadida. Gorgeous fresh fish from the local catch and friendly helpful staff. Our suite in the old American consulate was divine. A superb place to stay we chose it to unwind after a long flight fro Australia....

The former convent is wonderfully furnished and decorated. The surroundings not so nice. At the edge a nice view. No air condition , poor breakfast. Nice service when found( not always on the spot) a special feeling to stay such a place. Bathroom was magnificent

We had a spacious room in the Capitainerie, great location really enjoyed walking around the fortified walls, handy location also to walk on the beach. As we only stayed a night we ate both breakfast and dinner there and found them good, staff were really friendly.

The moment we saw photos of this hotel online we knew that we had to stay here, so we stopped for two nights between Essaouira and Fes. We had only one difficulty - whether to choose a suite in the Capitalnerie (the former American consulate and then the harbourmaster's house) or one in the Church; luckily, being off-season, El Jadida...

The hotel is situated in the former Portuguese fortification and the old catholic church. Both places are very stylish and our room was very nice furnished with a beautiful oriental inspired bathroom. The service was very friendly and always happy to help and to create a perfekt stay. The Capitainerie has a roof terrace and a small salon with a...

“If staying in a room at the church, then it's a short walk to the capitainerie for breakfast/dinner. I'm sure all rooms in both buildings are interesting and comfortable, but for a really unforgettable experience, get a suite at the church.”
