Villa Osumare is a ten room guest house situated in a tropical garden setting opposite the Flic en Flac beach on the western coast of the island. The guest house itself is situated between the hotel Villa Caroline and the hotel Klondik right on the western seashore enabling you to watch beautiful daily sunsets from the veranda or from the roof terrace or on the beach. Also from Villa Osumare you can walk the entire white sand 6 kilometer Flic en Flac beach. Within a radius of 100 metres short walking distance there many restaurants and small noodle snack vendors, bars, post office, shopping, pharmacy, public transport etc, all this you can see on Google maps. Flic en Flac is some 40 kilometres from the airport. As Mauritius is subject to the South East trade wind, the South and South Eastern part of the island are subject to rain during the rainy season, however Flic en Flac, being situated on the western coast, we enjoy sunshine almost all the year round and the sea remains calm.

Very nice house with super nice hosts. The location is ideal to go to the beach, restaurants and to access diving centers by foot. Lots of activities nearby. Rooms are nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Absolutely lovely experience in this family-owned small hotel. Everything was clean, owners super helpful and pleasant despite the trip being during a storm and lockdown was issued. They went over and beyond providing the guests with water and food even though this was not included. Superb place overall, great location and nice pool and magnificent rooftop terrace.

A little paradise to stay where you can make beautiful memories The location is great, lots of local bars and restaurants that are lively, relaxing and delicious. So close to the beach Sounds of nature, all kind of birds, gecko. The hospitality of the hosts Abi and Rolande, so friendly, helpful and make you feel at home. You're not supporting a 5* hotel you're supporting a lovely family run business and excellent value fir money Tasty & Healthy breakfast (fresh fruits, eggs, coffee, yoghourt...) The pool surrounded by the garden Air-conditioning in the room Fona and Flora Lovely white Villa in the middle of a beautiful garden Peaceful surroundings Nearby restaurants The roof top to chill with a big shaded terrace

We came right after Christmas for 10 days. The guest house is located in Flic en Flac which was great for us as the public beach there is very nice and you can find many local restaurants with very good food and very affordable prices. We also went to explore the rest of the island and from Flic en Flac everything is 1-hour drive (to go to the South by the coastal road, to the East cost in Trou d’Eau douce or to Cap Malheureux in the North). So the location of the guest house is really great, close to the main roads and literally 2min walk from the beach. As for the room, it is clean with a double bed (with its mosquito net), A/C and a fan, a safe and a small bathroom. There is a fridge but you cannot eat in the guest house. The room is cleaned every day. We were also served daily with a breakfast (fruits, tea or coffee, croissant or toasts, a yogurt and butter, home-made jams, cow cheese). You can complement it with your own food if you want ham or other stuff for your breakfast. The garden is very nice, the swimming pool is regularly cleaned and the owner places some mosquitoes incense repellers by the pool so you don’t get bite too much. From the garden (and our room) you can see the ocean which we liked a lot. You may also park your car either in the garden or in front of the guest house. You can clean your clothes for Rs 200 and have it ready within a day. Overall our experience was really great, we appreciated the kindness of the staff and the many times we discussed in the morning before leaving for the day to explore the island. We had a great stay there and are happy to recommend it !!

Mauritius is definitely not your typical backpacker destination so I was delighted to find a room at a backpacker-type accommodation. Villa Osumare is in principle a hotel as it comes with good rooms, breakfast, garden and pool. But as it also features a rooftop with shaded seating, nice chill music like Cymande and a bar (not selling drinks while I was there, though) - so you do have a common space to meet and connect with other travellers. I liked the very attractive building a lot - it oozes personality. Abi, the owner, is an excellent, thoughtful conversationalist who really cares about his place and his guests. Lucky for me, Abi also has a few apartments in Trou aux Biches and gave me a very good deal for my subsequent stay there. I can definitely recommend Villa Osumare As always, when booking accommodation it's a smart move to get in touch with the owner directly through their website or Whatsapp (Abi: +23057976734 ). Judging by my experience, you may want to book ahead of time.

Just a very pleasant place. Not pretentious at all, very clean, beach a few minutes away and nice mix of guests. Breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the well maintained gardens and small pool. There's a large roof terrace for sunbathing or evening beer and also a smaller terrace/verandah with seats and small tables on the 1st floor. This is also where the best room are. Rooms aren't the biggest but more than adequate, bed was comfortable and there's an AC unit as well as a fan. Internet worked well during the length of our stay. The best parts of Flic en Flac beach are to middle / to the south, so either a 15/20 minute walk or a short car ride. Altogether a really nice base at a very reasonable price.

We had a good feeling about this place right from the start when we met Abi. You couldn't ask for a friendlier host. The villa is in the greenest and quietest part of Flic en Flac just a few meters from the beach. The villa is beautiful and cosy and very, very clean. The buffet breakfast was fresh and delicious with ample choice. There is a great bookcase full of beach reads in different languages. Nearby are a choice of good restaurants, bars and a big supermarket. We recommend Sunset Garden and the Thai restaurant Sawadee. The house is equipped with 4 or maybe even more different wi-fi hotspots. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a kettle and fridge, AC, a shower with high pressure hot water and gorgeous beds with luxury cotton sheets and the best pillows ever! We recommend you to go directly here for your dream holiday and rent a car from Genius (down the road) to visit the rest of the island. We were sorry to leave after 7 nights in paradise. We hope to come back and see you again soon Abi! Massi and Zarah

Tucked down a side street, it can be reached from the back or front entrance. We were emailed a map that got us there with no problem. Check in was prompt & were given a nice cold glass of water. We were on the 2nd floor, Room 9., which has a public balcony with many spots to sit & overlooks the neighbours ficus trees. The very clean room (for those who care, not me, it was even clean under the bed) was on the small side but enough room for our travel bags, efficient use of space with extra shelves. There was a double bed with 4 pillows & mosquito net (did not use). There was AC/ fan, small safe, fridge, kettle, cups, no coffee/tea; soap, no shampoo. They also do laundry 200 R a bag (provided), great service which we used & very pleased. They have a TV in a common sitting room if you need that, as well as a large library of books in several languages as well as games for entertainment. The WiFi was strong through our stay. Note, it has a strict policy of no eating of food in your room or on the premises for sanitary reasons. If you purchase take away food, eat it elsewhere. We were not fans of this rule but this is a very clean lodging & they are trying to keep the ants & other insects out. In our travels, we have seen ants in the room due to food so understand. Buffet breakfast served outside with nice assortment of local fruits (banana, pineapple, papaya & watermelon), nice breads, toaster, butter, jam, cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, water & juices. All nicely laid out & re-stocked. This is a very well run guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood. It is clean orderly, has a nice swimming pool, nice breakfast, great areas to sit & enjoy the weather, nice friendly manager & staff with a 10-15 walk to the main beach & beach food vendors but only 2 minute walk to the beach across the road. We've stayed in close to 30 guesthouses & hotels a winter for the past 4 winters and this one rates in the top 10% of guesthouses for cleanliness, facilities & quality. Also when there we met some very nice people from England, Hungary, Romania & Russia. Great place to stay, would stay there again.

For the 3rd time we have booked here again. The room with a view of trees, garden, beach through the trees. Room is not large but meets. New fan and wooden furniture. Breakfast is also extensive with boiled eggs and the best coffee on the island. New sun beds around the pool, which is also maintained every day.
