Definitely a place to consider when travelling to Kuching. It's 40minutes away from town so do consider renting a car to get about. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to drop us off at the foothills of santubong mountain which is 5minutes away. There's no 24hr concierge but if you inform them on... More

Myself and a friend stayed at The Village House for one night a couple of weeks ago, and we both left saying that we could have stayed for much longer. If I go back to Borneo I intend to stay there for at least a week! The room was lovely and clean, modern, unpretentious and very comfortable. The bathroom was... More

Hidden gem in Damai, it was my 2nd stay in this hotel. I like the environment and it was super cozy, A super awesome gateway. We spent our time chilled by the pool and it was so relaxing. The room was a bit dusty and cleanliness is average.

As the location is quite far out from Kuching we decided to rent a car from the airport which made more sense and was cheaper then taxi's/organised trips. It was a little hard to find when you arrive as the place has no signs. However the location on google maps is correct it just does not look like it. The... More

I opted for this hotel rather than an anonymous high-rise in the centre of town in order to get some of the authenticity of Borneo. The pleasant rooms with excellent bathrooms are built round the pool rather on the "longhouse" on stilts pattern which was how the different ethnic groups used to live - the whole village living together. below... We stayed at village house for 3 night for the ester week end. First the place is charming, tastily decorated and the room and bathroom are really clean. But the second point and what made this stay so great was the service and the staff! A big thank you to Alifa, Flora and Eleesa for taking such a good care... More

We started our Malaysian holiday here with the idea of getting away from the crush for a bit... and it is! The rooms on stilts in the bush were amazing. The service was friendly and good and we enjoyed being able to just walk to the beach. The food was also amazing. We can recommend the Sarawak tasting menu! The... More

Our experience at Village House was excellent. The guesthouse has been carefully planned and attention paid to every detail. It is very beautiful and comfortable. The food here was way above expectations - delicious and fresh and a great mix of local as well as western food. Surprisingly they had a very good selection of wines. We did try the... More
