We stayed here for 3 wonderful nights and loved it. We took a taxi from the airport and the driver knew where to go, but it is very hidden with no signage. On entering through the solid wooden entrance door into The Village House garden I knew it would be special, and we were not disappointed. The setting is beautiful...

I loved our stay at the Village House! First, just to make it clear, the Village House is NOT in the actual city of Kuching. It’s in Santubong Village, which I believe was about a 30 minute cab ride from Kuching. I didn’t experience much of Kuching, but I can tell you that being outside of the city felt very...

My boyfriend and I drove down to this getaway after an afternoons walk around Bako park. We found this place through agoda and thought we should give it a shot. Fair warning, the place is very hidden and it does not look like much from the outside. There is no sign at the gate, but since it was google-able, we...

This is an off-the-beaten track bed and breakfast. There are no signs and I doubt there are any other tourists in Santubong Village. We walked along the beach (mud flat, really) and through town and seemed to be the star attraction (as obvious tourists). Once inside the compound, you hear the constant rippling water cascading off of the clear swimming...

I really LOVED it here. It's no 5 star Marriott or anything... But the staff are super hospitable, accomodation very clean and comfortable. The pool and relaxing areas are great and the food is good-okay. Around the accomodation, there is not very much to do. You cannot swim at the beach located 100m down the street as there may be...

Stayed one night, booked 3 rooms for family trip. From reviews, I was expecting something like Bali or Cambodia but was let down due to basic things: - A hotel with no signage, have to drive up and down Santubong to find it, we actually passed by the place many times, due to the building being too discreet (or is this...

Stepping onto the compound (after trying to find the place), you just know privacy is what you'll be getting. Quickly greeted by the person manning the front counter, you know you're in good hands. At least I did. I arrived later than my partner did but the fact that this frontdesk person knew who I was showed a level of...

It was our second time here at The Village House with the same group of friends. The experience here was great during our first visit in 2014 and that is why we decided to return again last weekend. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed with the hospitality and services this time round. Would not be able to reveal the name...

Being a local, coming here felt like an 'easy escape.' Not much travelling needed but gives every good feeling a getaway would. Room is clean, tastefully decorated. The place felt very private which is perfect for if you want to 'escape' from people and just have a me time with yourself and your partner. Food is decent but don't expect...

If you're looking for bright lights, loud music and alcohol till dawn forget the Village House!!!. If on the other hand you are looking for a peaceful retreat away from all the hustle and bustle this is the place. We spent 3 days here and it was amazing. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Rooms kept spotless and food...
