Dear johaliaanae, Greetings from The Marian! Thank you for your kind review. It was indeed a pleasure having you with us. Being centrally located certainly puts us at an advantage, with many things to do, see and experience; the sights and sounds! We hope you...More

This is a great place to stay in many ways. Location is really handy for the waterfront. It's very clean. Staff are very helpful. It's got a lot more character than a modern hotel. Unfortunately with that character comes 19th century windows that are not...More

We chose this hotel over large chain hotels. We were hoping for charm which we got but were also disappointed with a few things (stairs, stairs, stairs and a very tiny breakfast). Honestly, I would go elsewhere if I returned to Kuching. We stayed in...More

About
Description
The Marian sits atop a hill in the heart of town surrounded by the busiest and oldest streets in Kuching, just a few minutes’ walk from the Kuching Waterfront, Main Bazaar, and Carpenter Street (old More Chinatown). Wake up to the hustle and bustle of Kuching life from the clanking of hawker stalls to its vibrant surroundings of night activities from nearby eateries and drinking outlets. Experience colonial Kuching in this uniquely restored 3-storey mansion built in 1885. A labour of love, with its many wooden stairs and intricate timber features salvaged and retained! With its important history and timber architecture, a readaptive use of a former all-girls boarding school led to the creation of The Marian. All 40 rooms are ensuite and fitted with air-conditioning for your travelling comfort.Facilities: Swimming pool, Poolside snacks/refreshment services, Tour desk, Gift Shop, The Granary Kitchen + Bar, Luggage storage/Porter Service (charges apply), On-site private parking, No lift Less

Hello Red G, Thank you for your enquiry. We do not serve pork at breakfast, and if you would like to hold an event, we have halal catering. I hope that answers your question. Kind Regards, Yvonne Saman
