1 We asked for an airport pickup for the four of us. For some reason we were collected by a company named Borneo Explorations with that name on the sign board, so we had difficulty finding each other. The bus was empty save for us and it would have continued to exceed the speed limit dangerously had it not been...

As a submariner I live in cramped quarters with lots of guys for extended amounts of time. I eat the same food over and over, have the same conversations over and over, and never see further than 30 or so feet infront of me. So when we pull into a new port and get a chance to relax, its pretty...

Service at reception was not that great. Bell boy did not help with our luggage, I had to drag the luggage to the room myself. 1st day check in, kids used the bath, but could not drain the water, call to have it fixed, had to call twice before they fixed it. Staff at towel counter not helpful, I asked...

A bit of a journey to get here from the airport, but well worth the stay in the end. Nice rooms, and good water sport activities for those who enjoy it. Not the most elegant or trendy of resorts, but good value nonetheless.

We stayed for 4 nights in December 2008. We booked 3 rooms. The rooms are shabby considering this is a 5-star hotel. The room rates are also quite expensive. The facilities are basic for a resort hotel. The beach there have strong underwater current, so we were not able to go far. The only good thing is their various restaurant...

My wife, myself and two of our boys (13 and 9) went a week here earlier in July in the Ocean View Rooms on the 3rd floor. We were in the far end block which is some hike to the restaurant / pool area. The room smelled very musty and was dark and in need of a new coat of...

We were in room 8411, an Ocean View room with a partially obstructed view of the Ocean. The room wasn't especially large and a child had drawn on one of the bedside lamps with a black ink pen. The sheets were incredibly scratchy the first night although it was easy to fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves....

The room and resort were very tired but adequate. We were travelling independently and booked on the hotel's site at a top rate, however one night of our 3 night stay we were surrounded by a "Contiki" group. They were skinny dipping and carousing at 3 am in the morning. Also the wine was prohibitively expensive, close to $100.00 for...

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Malaysian Borneo. We spent 8 nights at Nexus and enjoyed every moment of it. It is 40 minutes or so from Kota Kinabalu airport but within fairly easy access of most places if you hire a car/bike. The hotel has a regular daily bus service into town and/or 1 Borneo, which...

The food is 2 -3 times more expensive than in the town at similar restaurants. Considering the prices and room rates you'd expect top notch rooms, restaurants and facilities - unfortunately it's a bit of a one-sided deal. The gym equipment is old and smelly, the rooms are outdated with mould stains, and worn furniture. The restaurants probably looked good...
