It is nice but so noisy. For a family vacation is ok because the kid's areas are great for them. But I visit the orang utan natural reserve at the other Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort and I could compare both hotels and I would tell you that the second option is better than this Tanjung Aru Resort. If you...

Stayed very recently in KK for a business meeting! Its huge with some amazing restaurants, conference halls, big rooms, great kids play zone, water sports etc ...etc. You don't to step out for anything ...its a WORLD in itself! The view from the rooms is "WOW"! What you see is only a vast expanse of water infront of you! Had...

My partner and I stayed at the Rasa Ria resort (which we highly recommend) before arriving at the Tanjung Aru Shangri-la. The suite we stayed in was lovely, spacious and clean and definitely the best part of the stay, as well as the Chi spa. However, the breakfast had a wide range of dishes but the food was poor quality,...

This hotel is perfect for relaxing and luxury. I stayed in a seaview Kinabalu Club room which had everything you needed and great views. Kinabalu Club was excellent with fantastic service and staff, well worth upgrading to. The Club staff remember your name, what you drink and are genuinely interested in you (special mention to Andy, Kinabalu Club Manager for...

While pricier than other options, this is by far the best resort at Kota Kinabalu. Lovely rooms, huge pool, great for families. The view out onto the ocean is lovely. Only downside is that the beach isn't amazing - you come here more for the resort and relaxation than any natural wonders. Wonderful service.

We stayed 4 nights with a tour to Kinabatangan inbetween and loved it. There is an adult pool so although there are plenty of families the awesome kids water park is separate, and I was able to read my book without noticing the little ones. Breakfast buffet is very extensive (one of the best for choice ive ever seen) but...

My Wife and I stayed for 7 nights, we loved it the service and friendliness off the staff is amazing. It’s perfect for families as there are plenty of activities for kids. Breakfast and dinner buffet at TaTu was good, Coco Joes good, Peppino good, Shang palace average. Prices at the resort are similar like in Australia. Taxis always available...

We had 2 weeks at this resort. Very up market with everything you could possibly need available in the room or by asking friendly and obliging staff. Very large, and often busy, so you hardly meet the same people twice, if you are the sociable type. Excellent pool but poor littered beaches for sea swimming nearby (although staff do their...

My family stayed her for 2 weeks over Xmas and had a really fantastic time. We stayed in a suite with adjoining twin room in the new wing. I don't normally write travel reviews but this time we thought it important to recognise the resort for our wonderful holiday experience. The resort is great having a big kids club with...
