Just came back from a few days at the resort and stayed in a fantastic suite which was really luxurious. Overall a good option for a short break or business trip. The resort has great facilities, lovely pool area and very nice restaurants. However the resort is very busy and doesn't feel very natural (tiny beach which looks man made)....

Recently spent 2 weeks at the hotel. We were very excited & very much looking forward to our holiday but we both came away feeling disappointed that the hotel wasn't anywhere near the standard that we were expecting. Downside......the hotel was very crowded, reception area was pretty much always very busy & you had to queue & wait to speak...

It has a wonderfully convenient location & facilities and really great comfort & ambiance but the best reason for staying at the Shangri-La is the incredibly professional & friendly staff. We'll definitely be back.

The staff at this lovely hotel couldn't do more to please you and make you feel welcome and valued. They also decorated the room beautifully for our wedding anniversary and we will definitely return here and will use other shangri la hotels in the group.

We stayed for 8 days in March in a tanjung mountain view club room. On arrival they offered us an upgrade to a suite for a cost. We decided to stay in the room we had booked. We had just arrived from 4nights in Kowloon Shangri-La... And what a difference in hotels! Our room was clean and nice views towards...

This is very strange hotel. Some of the aspects being amazing, while some are simply terrible. Good stuff: - Rooms are really great - Pool area is beautiful, and pool itself is nice - STAR Marina and its personnel are helpful and professional - Some of the restaurants (Pepino for example) provide good service - Kinabalu Wing reception area is...

Was upgraded to a suite on arrival, must be my charming charisma! The resort is fantastic. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Everyone is polite and accommodating. Room was beautiful. Sea view, all mod cons. Bathrooms were like something out of a palace. Breakfast was very nice although hectic with all the guests. Food ok but not pricey. Water slides...

Where to start? Positive: - complimentary water in rooms and pool side - staff very friendly Negative: - quite run down - very busy and crowded - anti-slip in baby pool so rough, my 8-month-old son had 10 bleeding toes (literally) after 10 minutes and my 80£ brand new bikini bottom was ruined - majority of babies and toddlers don't...

Having made the reservation to stay at this hotel and was told that the Kota Kinabalu Club rooms were on a par with the Shangri-La "Rasa Sayang rasa Wing facility" it was quite apparent on arrival that the same quality and service just was not present. Fortunately the management immediately transferred us to their sister hotel (Rasa Ria Resort) further...
